Lenny Kravitz's "Again" did reach number one on the R&R pop charts for 3 weeks in fact (interrupted by LDCAT). You must be thinking of AT40, where Again did not reach #1. Back then, AT40 followed a different chart than R&R. No, what I meant (and I assume ted11804 also meant) was that "Here Without You" and "Baby Boy" would likely alternate at the #1 position, ie. both having non-successive runs at the top, similarly to "Again" and "Love Don't Cost A Thing" in early 2001.

The Alternative Number 1 changed on Sunday some times this year. "Butterflies" and "Always On Time" battled for Number 1 on Urban.

Stacie Orrico could make Top 10 in a few weeks, as long as Hilary Duff doesn't over take her. Kelly Clarkson continues to hang on, she may get close to #15 by the final update. Staind moves from 28 to 31 this week with a bullet as Britney, Outkast and Simple Plan pass them up. Liz Phair is still dealing with what she has her entire chart run, songs continue to pass her up because her gains aren't high enough. Next week she looks safe and will get to move up. John Mayer looks like he is almost done and Pharrell is done too. How many weeks has it been for Justin Timberlake? For the most part the chart has really slown down this week compared to last week.

I believe "Senorita" is in it's 14th week, the same thing as CHUD if i remember correctly. It might be 15th week. This song has been having a pretty fast fall, hopefully it will go recurrent, not because it's a good song, but because it's rare these days for an artist to have 4 songs off of one album all go top ten and all go reccurent, hopefully Justin will join Pink as the only two artists to have 4 hits off of one album in this decade (i don't know if Christina counts since GIAB came out in 1999).
I have an interesting question, do you think "Baby Boy" can become a bigger hit than "Crazy In Love"? Even though the song is either #1 or #2 on the 3 major formats, i doubt it will be bigger than CIL.

Looks like 3 Doors Down will be #1 this week I kinda want Beyoncé to get there too just so the streak of no #2 hits this year continues Britney will debut at #26, or #25 if she passes John Mayer. Mandy Moore will also make top 40 once "Magic Stick" goes recurrent. In addition to Britney, the other top 50 debuts are Clay Aiken, Ludacris, Nelly Furtado, and Fuel. Clay and Nelly could be top 40 by next week. The top 5 New & Active should be Blaque, Missy Elliott, O.A.R., Young Gunz, and Chingy/Snoop Dogg/Ludacris. If M.V.P. or Obie Trice get any adds, they'll be in there.

lol! Me too! I must admit. Although I also do like "Baby Boy."
Is MercyMe going recurrent this week? That would be so cool! If not, then what is not including "Lil' Kim"?

I believe Thalia's also going recurrent. Yes. Lil' Kim, MercyMe, and Thalia are the three getting the boot this week.

I want Baby Boy to get #1, but not for very long. Because it's 3.1414734632425 times better than Crazy In Love, that also went to #1.
I think this may be a repeat of what happened on the Urban chart last week. "Damn!" went to #1 (with a larger bullet) and looked as if it could prevent Baby Boy from reaching #1, but look where it is now on that chart.
What has been 3 Doors Down's chart run for "Here Without You"? It's a pretty quick climb.

Very pleased that Mandy finally debuted. She may well get knocked right back out, but at least she snuck a week in.
Does she still hold the record for most top 40 hits without ever making the top ten?
And have two members of the 'big four' ever debuted in the top 40 the same week before? (Britney & Mandy debuting this week)

Here's what I'm stunned about, and this goes back to the post about rhythmic struggling and the pop music scene changing, but when was the last time you saw FIVE songs in the top ten by rock acts? (Trapt, Fountains of Wayne, Maroon Five, Alex Band (w/Santana), Maroon Five, and of course, Three Doors Down)

This is her 7th now. I'm pretty sure the rceord was tied at 6 anyway though, between her and someone else.
U2 have a longer string of non top tens, but they've had several top ten hits in the past.

Baby Bash, Outkast, and Simple Plan are all doing really well! Simple Plan could have their first Top 10, especially because "Perfect" is just right for the holiday season. If I had to make the peaks, I would say: I'd Do Anything #14 Addicted #6 Perfect #9....................comments?
Maria definitely doesn't deserve to be done......i saw this going to #17 or so......any chance she'll get her bullet back? How often does that happen? However, Jewel and Pharrell losing their bullet I'm kind of happy about..."Stand" is not too exciting.
How much longer will Maroon 5 and Santana be able to keep their bullets??? Hopefully they can last long enough...... How about our princesses in the mid-teens of the chart...Stacie, Hilary, Kelly. I'd have to say either 1 or 2 of these songs will be done by the end of the week. Who is staying and who is gone? Please say your opinion
Britney and Madonna should be down to at least +1000 by Sunday. Probably in the 700 or 800 range.
How much longer will 3DD be #1. Will Beyonce take over eventually or will we have our first #2 peak of the year? How will these two songs peak in spins. Do you think any of the songs in the Top 20 right now have a good chance at Top 2? Which ones?
Also, when does hitmakers website update? I started using it this week......
P.S. Go Red Sox! (let's come back)

I agree! If Aaliyah can do well on pop, so can this! I see this song as if Aaliyah had a good song that wasn't boring or bland. I see that Maria has much stronger vocals than Aaliyah, the music does not take her voice over.

I'm gonna respong to the rest of your post...
I think "Perfect" should go the highest of their three singles, but because of that it will probably peak at #22.
I agree with you about Pharell, it's like "Lower your voice!" It sounds like he's trying too hard to show he can hit the high notes. His much better with his rock music. As for Jewel, I love "Stand." Lyrical brilliance in that song!
Hopefully they can both make Top Five
Well, I don't suspect Hilary or Stacie will be over, but Kelly has held on to her small bullet for a long time, I think it is possible they all might last for one more week.
I hope she can get another Top Ten hit!
Both Beyoncé taking over or peaking at #2 are both plausible. Right now, I think Fountains of Wayne and Trapt have a good shot at the Top Two. But future Top Two'd may be Michelle Branch (she'll probably have a slow rise). Britney Spears, and maybe people will catch onto Fefe Dobson.

I knew people would strongly disagree with me, but I can hardly ever hear Aaliyah in her songs. Her voice is very weak to me. This is just my opnion, but I think her voice is overrated due to all the success she has. I think people need to give Maria a shot.

I like Maria aka Samantha Mumba. Her voice sure has developed since the days of "Baby Come On Over."
