How does a song become a gold? I am lookin through mediabase sample hours and songs such as Staind - It's Been Awhile and Puddle Of Mudd - Blurry are marked as gold but even older songs such as Michelle Branch - Everywhere (well at least it's older than puddle of mudd - blurry) and Janet - All For You are marked as recurrents? Could anyone shed some light on how a song goes from current to recurrent and then from recurrent to gold? Or at least mediabase's methods if they're different.
Thanks!

This seems to be a top secret, like AT40's method of moving a song to recurrent back when they were using a completely different chart. They'd tell you the secret, but then they'd have to kill you.
