I know those of you who didn't get this finished before the old boards perished have just been pining away in anguish wondering what the final unanswered one was! :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
In continuing homage to Michael1973 and Bob Ring's recent brainteasers, here's yet another! If someone's already done something like this, feel free to slap me silly! And if it proves to be sorely easy, then slap me silly once more. No clues or hints yet, I'm just throwing it on the table like this:
1
4-37-8-8-43-26
2
7-22-23-37-6-3-14
3
2-1-2-5-6-3-23-4-4-48
4
1-6-17-32-26-42
5
5-19-20-27-50-36-13-19
6
15-4-6-26-14-17-28
7

I suspect that each entry refers to an artist, and that the numbers are the peak positions of each of their songs.

I think #11 is Fastball, though I thought "The Way" reached higher besed on its end-of-the-year postion. I missed the charts most of summer of '98.

Yep, that one's Fastball, and I also would've said offhand that "The Way" got to #3.
I'm a little ashamed to say the first one I got was Hanson (#4).
So far I've also gotten Color Me Badd, Collective Soul (#1), the Cranberries (#5), Sheryl Crow (#7, minus "Picture"), and Destiny's Child (#8, though I would've thought for sure that "Bootylicious" was top 5).

10 is Vitamin C, 12 is Shania Twain and 13 is Kylie Minogue.
Assuming I got 10 right, you forgot "As Long As You're Loving Me", which got to #47.
Also, didn't "Bootylicious" peak at #6?

D'oh! But I can't believe none of my compendium receivers have pointed that out to me yet either! That'll teach me to trust my own record-keeping! Oftentimes when a new song is charting I'll forget to update the previous song, but "Booty" was gone before "Emotion" came out, so I'll just blame it on the small typeface R&R was using at the time! Or perhaps wishful thinking, since I hate the song.
Pulling out those old issues brings back bad memories as well—this was around the time that the illustrious indicator chart was christened, and they demoted 41 "not-worthy-enough" stations. (Worthy to MediaBase's clientele, anyway).

Well at least I got this one right...I remember it well, because I was shocked at its peak. I thought for sure it'd hit the top, especially after making #1 on Alternative.

Boy I'm not doing very good, am I? And that one was even in my compendium! But I did consciously leave "Picture" off...though I guess I shouldn't have really (especially considering one of the artists you haven't guessed yet!).
As for all the responses: yes, FreakyFlyBry, you and everyone else are correct so far.

If #9 was indeed the Counting Crows, a 30 should've been added to the end to represent "Big Yellow Taxi".

I hang my head in shame! I'm bloodied and bowed! I'll be more-perfect next time... I'll blame this one on the fact that I don't listen to much radio (and always changed the station when the Taxi came on).
I got MST3K1's, but I'll leave it for someone else...
