Considering that she's gonna sell 600-700 thousand copies of her CD this week, I vote don't care. She doesn't need airplay to succeed. The experts were predicting around 400k, maybe the late publicity push will increase that, but if they are right, that has to be a disappointment no matter the climate. The last disc was two short years ago and pushed 1,400,000 the first week.

Her last album sold 750k the first week out but its obvious that she's going to sell 2.5million copies this week.

I think people don't care anymore.
People don't care about Britney anymore and they don't care about Madonna but I think they still think they have a lot of hype behind them.
It peaked at number 2 in the UK and was kept off number one spot by Busted the shittest band in the world.
Me Against The Music isn't a bad song, I really just don't care though.

Read my signature, that should answer your question, about what I think about album sales.

I would like to agree, but Norah Jones did sell a lot!

It's hard to care, frankly. Radio did give her a chance (partially because -- or should that be despite -- Madonna's involvement), but in the end, the song is just not that great. What surprises me the most is BS's inability to pick good songs, it's not like she's writing them.

11 10 BRITNEY SPEARS Me Against The Music 4577 4652 -75 33.488 16 11 SIMPLE PLAN Perfect 4378 3858 520 38.517
Why is Simple Plan gaining so much more now? They better not knock Britney out of the top 10 by Sunday!

What surprises me the most is BS's inability to pick good songs, it's not like she's writing them. She co-wrote "Me Against The Music" along with 6 other songs on her album.

With my luck at predicting peaks (I predicted #10), the song will either get past Maroon 5 for #9 or get passed by Simple Plan and get bumped to #11, but not both.

This would really suck if she couldn't get Top 10 with this song. It would be like "Love at First Sight" all over again... just with a good song.

I think Perfect is gonna pass it and maybe even Maroon 5's within the next few days. I'm looking at the Mediabase numbers and things don't look to promising for Britney. A positive is that the drop isn't as much as others around it.

I think that if she gets played a little bit more this weekend, her spin losses wont be as big and i think that she can keep her spot at #10 until Sunday...maybe even moving up to #9..but i think #10 is likely..but there is only 200 or so spins between her and simple plan..which sucks >:(

11 10 BRITNEY SPEARS Me Against The Music 4500 4667 -167 32.889 16 11 SIMPLE PLAN Perfect 4455 3942 513
Right now, I think its possible that Britney can keep her #10 spot for Wednesday's chart, but... just barely. She only has 45 more spins than SP.
In my opinion, both of the competing songs suck, so, it really doesn't matter which gets #10...
And as far as me expecting / not expecting a peak below / above #10... I don't care. Britney's music sucks. End of story. Her successes and failures don't really phase me.

I'm actually so shocked that I am starting to like the Simple Plan song. :o Normally when I think of Simple Plan, I think they are a very cheesy band. But, "Perfect," is a very infectious song.
I'm so glad that Britney is doing her thing once again. Congrats to Britney on her new Walk a Fame star, that's a really nice accomplishment. "Me Against The Music," truly deserves top 10. I'm so happy she's made it right now, I really hope she holds on to it!
I really love her image this time around, she has truly matured and she doesn't seem to care what anyone thinks about her anymore and she does what she wants to do whether people like it or not. That's what I really admire about her, she has taken charge of her own life.

I have liked all of Simple Plan's singles...there is something infectious about all of them.
I start off not liking them, and not wanting to like them, but I just can't help it, I like I'd Do Anything, Addicted and Perfect better than I'm Just a Kid, but I can't decide which of the first three I like better.

and I forgot to ask, if Perfect does make the Top 10, which it probably will, if not tomorrow then next week, but will this be their first Top 10 single? Or did Addicted also go Top 10?

"I'd Do Anything" peaked at #16 and "Addicted" peaked at #11 (thank God).

I agree with you totally that both songs suck. According to the latest update, Britney is down to #11 and Simple Plan is #10. With a current spin loss of over 200, it's highly unlikely she'll regain her bullet. Looks like MATM will end up peaking at #11---not in the Top 10, but still much higher than I originally thought.
