Can't she still make it? Just because she's about to lose her bullet doesn't mean there's possibility she'll get it back.

It did much better than I expected too. At first I hated this song, but it's been growing on me and I love it now...

As long as she doesn't experience a major spin loss next week, she still has a pretty decent shot at #10.
I voted for no though because I didn't expect this to get higher than #15 or so.

I wouldn't say it's over yet. I have a feeling with the AMA's tonight, she will do well. I also think Jive will start to push the remix as soon as the original loses it's bullet.

The song can still go top ten unbulleted, but with her luck i wouldn't be surprised if Simple Plan and No Doubt jumped over her next week. The song is not a flop in my opinion, it had a very medicore performance. For a Britney/Madonna song it should've done better, but for as a song by two female artists that haven't had a top ten in ages, it did okay. So i am not surprised it didn't go top ten and i wouldn't label it a flop either.

I've hated the song from the start and really predicted a failure for this one. However, when it quickly rocketed to #14, I'm sure I wasn't the only one to see a future Top 10. I was initially pleasantly surprised about the sudden decline in airplay, but now agree that this was so inevitable.
I voted "no", but now that I think about it, maybe I should have gone with "don't care".
Boy am I glad to see this piece of trash finally taken out.

The only thing that surprsed me about this song is that a Britney/Madonna song couldn't even go higer than a song by Staci Orrico. I think this really shows that two of them are not well recieved on Radio.

It's already done better than you would think the way her last few singles did.
And she's still going to have one of the biggest albums of the year, which is what really counts.

I think this really shows that two of them are not well recieved on Radio. I don't quite understand this logic. Is Beyonce more received than 3DD because she is at a higher position than 3DD on the pop chart right now? Is Lil' Jon "better received" than MB20 because he has a song that is higher on the chart than MB20 currently has? Part of the reason why this song might not make the top 10 is that people associate Britney with teen pop. Artists like Christina and Justin were able to escape this stigma, but Britney just can't get rid of it, no matter what type of song she puts out. Nonetheless, I agree that her album will sell big.

He's definitely matured since his early 'N Sync days, but he's definitely not Urban or R&B. Same with Christina, though at least with her, there is some growth and maturity apparent on Stripped.

And she's still going to have one of the biggest albums of the year, which is what really counts. For a December-November chart year, she could sell more albums in 2004 than in 2003. In 2001, there were three different Number 1 albums for the year, some were for December-November and some were for January-December. The three were Shaggy, Linkin Park, and I'm guessing the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" Soundtrack, and all of them were released in 2000. What you really remember (or look up at the RIAA site) about an album is its certification, not where it ranked for the year(s). I don't know if Billboard would sell old year-end charts if you wanted that information.

Yeah I just meant she would have one of the biggest selling albums in a comparative timeframe, since you can't really compare sales/certifications from now to sales from 5 years ago.

Are you an accountant or something??I kind of think he is. His responses are always very technical and involve numbers a lot. What's your major, Evan?

I like statistics and have taken an accounting course. "Me Against The Music" is up to Number 10 and should be able to stay there even with a small loss.

Considering that she's gonna sell 600-700 thousand copies of her CD this week, I vote don't care. She doesn't need airplay to succeed.

"MATM" just has to hang in there for the next week now. She only has +6, but there is no single below her that'll topple her in the next week. The only thing is she, she may start losing spins around -600 or so, and if that happens, she won't get the Top 10. If she can hang aorund with a small loss, she may even be able to get to #9.

Holy crap! KIIS spun MATM 98 times in the past week! I don't think I've ever seen them play a song over 90x/wk. It's like they're single-handedly helping Britney to keep her bullet. Not that I'm complaining or anything....

Given that KIIS was playing MAtM 50-60 times a week prior to Britney being announced as the headliner to Jingle Ball I guess you can say that her participation was worth an extra 40 spins a week (probably an extra 200-300 over the life of the song) at the second biggest pop station in the USA.

KIIS in LA loves to play the under dogs. I remembered they overplayed "Dirrty" as well when no one else was playing it.

the song is now to -18, and with Simple Plan and No Doubt gaining in the 300 to 400 range, she could be knocked off the top 10 fast
