Releasing a second single? How did their latest CD do on Billboard? After "You Are My Number 1" flopped so long ago and the CD isn't selling anymore, I was sure they gave up, but they are releasing this song to pop next month. I like this song, upbeat and catchy. It'll flop thoguh

I heard this once... sounded alright, but I'm 99.9% sure that it will flop.

The album debuted in the 80s or 90s.

I saw some part of this video on TRL today. It is for the "Cat In The Hat" soundtrack.

I saw this video the other day... on Nickelodeon. Enough said.
Didn't there album get really good reviews? Sounds like to me they're releasing the wrong singles.

This song may flop, but it IS an excellent pop tune. This should have been the lead off single from their album.
If radio will give it a chance, it is a hit.
The association with Nickalodeon or Disney should not put people off from giving this a listen, it's a good song.
All I can say is FINALLY. After some very uninspired single releases, they have a decent one.

This is actually a pretty good song. One of their better recent tunes.

I have already started charting it as of this week. I think it is a pretty good song. Good message too. I didn't even know it was associated with Cat In the Hat until yesterday. I'll hope for the best, but I won't hold my breath.

I'll hope for the best, but I won't hold my breath. This is WAY premature, but if this song does well, and I'm very hopeful, there is a slew of follow up singles on that album if the record label will give them the time of day. Hang On could be big thanks to the movie, just as I'm a Believer did well due to Shrek.

I agree.
Knowing Smash Mouth has been in a huge hole as of recently since their self-titled album, it may seem psychologically that they'll never hit it big again.
But Smash Mouth may actually get something out of this, and it all depends on how psychologically radio programmers feel towards playing a new Smash Mouth song. But when they hear it's from The Cat In The Hat, they may have a bit of confidence.
I am skeptical too, but believe we shouldn't let this go quite yet.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

If the song is good.....is it just a matter of people thinking radio won't give Smash mouth the time of day anymore?

This has 70 spins on radio, and with many more stations adding it, it should be on the radar soon. Will the success of the Cat in The Hat help this song, or is it doomed to peak in the 50's somewhere?

I think it'll be lucky to even make it to the 50s. 70 spins one week after the adds date is not very good at all.

Seeing so many positive responses about this song, I'm surprised that almost everyone expects it to flop. If the song is good.....is it just a matter of people thinking radio won't give Smash mouth the time of day anymore? often times a song has been raved about on these boards as well as R&R, but that doesn't always transmit into radio success, many of us know how bad things at radio are, so we decline to actually listen to it
