recurr 50 CENT In Da Club 2014 1796 218
After weeks at weeks of hovering around 1800 spins per week, "In Da Club" gains 218 spins to land at over 2000 once again.

that is sad... how long ago was this song around?? Not one song should get so many spins after going recurrent, no matter who or what the song is

Not one song should get so many spins after going recurrent, no matter who or what the song is And especially not when it is a song that is that bad. Someone tell me a worse song to ever make #1. I can't think of one. Then to get all this recurrent play? Blech!

If it goes gold as fast as other songs have recently, it could be the Number 1 gold for a long time, and possibly make the Top 50 Sans Recurrent Rule while a gold.

This is not usual for a rap song! Although, it wasn't so bad when it came out, but are people really still not sick of it?

I'm a bit surprised that "In Da Club" is still one of the top 5 recurrents... I thought it would be down in spins a little more by now.

I sure hope this isn't the pop song of the decade. I hope it's "Complicated." :) Or another good song that hasn't been released yet...

Out of all his singles released to pop, this is by far the most pop friendly, so I am not too surprised that pop stations are sticking to it! I love still hearing it!!

I loved the song then and I love it now. I think it should've been no. 1 for the year (actually, HWY from 3DD should've been, except for it being such a late release for that)

The song needs to go away, though it's easily the best of the four songs I've heard from him.
I just looked back through previous R&Rs. The song has been sitting at around the same spin total for even longer than I thought:
08/08/03- 2138 08/15/03- 2061 08/22/03- 1910 08/29/03- 1878 09/05/03- 1840 09/12/03- 1844 09/19/03- 1842 09/26/03- 1910 10/03/03- 1839 10/10/03- 1836 10/17/03- 1776 10/24/03- 1793 10/31/03- 1816 11/07/03- 1756 11/14/03- 1835 11/21/03- 1870 11/28/03- 1801
With the end of the year coming, this is only going to get even more recurrent play.

My station all of the sudden has also put back on a sudden increase to the song getting it back up to #26 on their playlist. I hope this is a song that gets a high recurrent airplay for a little while and then finally disappears and is never heard of again, like that would really happen, only in my dreams. Sadly enough I think this song will get pretty decent recurrent/gold airplay for the next 5 years or so. *I agree, this is the worst song to ever hit #1! Actually this year has had several bad #1 songs. Next year looks hopeful for better #1's!!

Not even close. There was at least SOME talent involved in SOME of the singing. There is not talent exhibited whatsoever "In Da Club" it is the most boring, uninventive, no melody, no decent beat song I have heard on the radio. Seriously. When I first heard this song, I said "What is this sh*t, and why are they playing it on a pop stations?" When it climbed the charts, I just shook my head sadly. What were people thinking? Out of all the rap going, 50 cent and Ja Rule have by far the least talent, and I don't see why they are in the game at all.

Don't quibble over others' opinions. Talent is subjective. This is true. I think Biz Markie is more talented than 50 cent.

Macy Gray - I Try (yikes!) I agree wholeheartedly with that. "I Try" is possibly, IMO, the worst song to hit number one this decade. But "In Da Club" is right behind it. I disagree with "Lady Marmalade", though I don't like it as much as I did when it was hot on the charts. It's one of those songs that you only enjoy when it's popular.

Am I the only one who LIKED "In Da Club"? Yes..I think the word LIKED sums it up completely! When it first came out, the clapping was infectious..at least at some of the clubs I went to. But after awhile..it got REALLY old, REALLY fast.

Someone tell me a worse song to ever make #1. Blech! "Beautiful". Blech indeed. 4 straight months of stable spins? That's amazing. Someone compare it to Hanging By A Moment or Wherever You Will Go or In The End, please. Thanks.

Well there would have been a larger panel for at least some of "Hanging By A Moment"'s time, so you can't compare spins. R and R is gone so we can't look at old charts sans recurrent rule. Songs like "Scar Tissue" and "It's Been Awhile" have had four months of constant spins at Number 1 on another chart, and "One Sweet Day" was Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks. I think Godsmack: "I Stand Alone," Tool: "Schism," and Fuel: "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" could have been higher at this age sans recurrent rule on Active Rock or Rock than 50 Cent is. There's also "Headstrong." On CHR-Pop, "Still Fly" spent at least four months in the 31-50 range. "Rest In Pieces" (Number 69) has spent a long time in the 51-70 range, I heard it on CHR-Pop in August or earlier. R.O.C. Project featuring Tina Arena is Number 86 and probably has a long time of spins close together. Also Hoobastank: "Crawling In The Dark," which peaked at Number 3 on Alternative and lasted long enough to be Number 2 for the year.
