Songs like "Scar Tissue" and "It's Been Awhile" have had four months of constant spins at Number 1 on another chart, and "One Sweet Day" was Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks. I think Godsmack: "I Stand Alone," Tool: "Schism," and Fuel: "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" could have been higher at this age sans recurrent rule on Active Rock or Rock than 50 Cent is. There's also "Headstrong." On CHR-Pop, "Still Fly" spent at least four months in the 31-50 range. "Rest In Pieces" (Number 69) has spent a long time in the 51-70 range, I heard it on CHR-Pop in August or earlier. R.O.C. Project featuring Tina Arena is Number 86 and probably has a long time of spins close together. Also Hoobastank: "Crawling In The Dark," which peaked at Number 3 on Alternative and lasted long enough to be Number 2 for the year. I meant 4 months of stable spins as a Top 5 recurrent.

I meant 4 months of stable spins as a Top 5 recurrent. Out of what I posted, Hoobastank may qualify. I'd be surprised if it spent less than four months in the Top 10 recurrents, and "In Da Club" hasn't been in the Top 5 recurrents every week. I wouldn't be surprised if "I Can Only Imagine" spends four months in the Top 5 Adult Contemporary recurrents.

The panel size was reduced before "HBAM" went recurrent.
Even songs like "HBAM", "HYRM", "Family Affair" and "In The End" didn't stabilize for four months THIS early.

Quoting myself to add that "Crawling In The Dark" is Number 83 sans recurrent rule at over two years old.

Well there would have been a larger panel for at least some of "Hanging By A Moment"'s time, so you can't compare spins. R and R is gone so we can't look at old charts sans recurrent rule. Also Hoobastank: "Crawling In The Dark," which peaked at Number 3 on Alternative and lasted long enough to be Number 2 for the year. All of those songs have something in common. They are WAY better than In Da Club.

I'm just curious here, since I really don't get the song. Did you guys like it the first time you heard it? Or did it take a while, or was it hearing it in a club for the first time? What did it for you?
