Following what WCBS-FM did last year, today 100000watts reports that WKHL 96.7 Stamford, CT has changed from Oldies to Adult Hits, calling themselves "Coast" rather than using a male name. I can get WKHL here in Merrick, NY but it doesn't appear in the Nassau-Suffolk ratings. Now the only Oldies station I can get is WBZO. WKHL was in the Top 10 in the Stamford-Norwalk (Market 142) ratings for Fall 2005 and was the only Oldies station in the ratings there.

967thecoast.com/I just put this on at work (I had no idea they changed). They're playing Madonna's "Holiday". I'll listen to this over the next few days, but my hunch is it will be more dance oriented like Jack in New York versus the rock oriented "The River 105.9" in Hartford.

From All Access Net News:
WKHL/Fairfield County, CT Drops Oldies The Coast Another Oldies station bites the dust as COX RADIO takes WKHL (KOOL 96.7)/STAMFORD-NORWALK, CT to a Classic Hits/AC format as "96.7 THE COAST, FAIRFIELD COUNTY'S GREATEST HITS."
The station is running jockless for now with, as the press release for the format flip says, "50 minutes of FAIRFIELD COUNTY's Greatest Hits every hour, from the 60's through today."

The station leans very heavily towards the 70's, playing lots of Billy Joel, Elton John, Eagles, etc. I would say at least half of the playlist is pre-1980. Most of the songs I've heard from the last 10 years were AC hits or light rock songs ("Superman", "Iris", "Everyday Is A Winding Road"). The 80's songs are usually dance hits they play on AC stations like "Love Shack" or Madonna stuff.
This station seems to be a cross between AC and jack, and looks like it's going after the WEBE 108 audience.
