I'm really surprised to see Amanda Perez in the Top 20! I know she peaked high, but she fell like a rock, right?

Contrarily, I'm surprised to see "Intuition" and "No Letting Go" outside of the Top 40. Jewel peaked at #7 and WW peaked at #11, but both had great longevity!

Quite a few folks complained about the rock songs not doing well enough on the pop charts on this message board and the last official R&R message board all throughout this year. They explained that hiphop songs were responsible for hogging up the airplay of these rock songs. Or there were not enough rock on the chart, somewhere along those lines. But it is evident that the rock songs are doing well regardless. So there is no need for them to complain anymore. That is what I meant.

Anyway, I'm just teasing all in fun, because I felt like being a brat.

I can't believe Christina Aguilera had the two worst positions songs can ever have! A #21 and a #11! This is so not accurate. God how much i can't stand the year end charts. So biased. When people look at this they are going to think "Fighter" is a bigger hit than CHUD.

I agree with the year-end charts being inaccurate, especially to songs that are released near the end of the year and have their airplay split between two years. That's why I like inverse point charts.

For instance, No Doubt's "Underneath It All" was # 37 on the 2002 year-end chart and # 35 on the 2003 year-end chart. However, in any inverse points system you can use, it would be in the Top 10 of songs from 2002.

Yeah, it seems rap songs peak high and there is a lot more of them, but rock songs last for many weeks.

I totally agree! Well, the year-end charts are accurate with spin totals... but I don't think it's the way it should be set up.

How is the chart inaccurate and biased? The year-end chart is exactly what it's supposed to be, the tally of the most played songs of the year, period. You're trying to make it more than what it really is.

Exactly. Because songs aren't released at the same time, you will never have a chart that treats every song the same. If you make the cut-off date Dec. 31, than Outkast gets screwed. If you wait until Jan. 31, than Kelis may get screwed. I don't know why people say this chart is biased.

All I Have wasn't that popular, Beautiful was more popular than half of the songs in the top ten, yet it didn't make the top ten.

"Beautiful" was too close to the beginning of the year. Some of its peak weeks are in 2002, right?

Outkast is already screwed. They got too many spins in
October/November to be high on the 2004 year end chart, even though there probably won't be any other song in 2004 that will reach 9400 spins.

If all of Beautiful's spins counted, it would be #5 and IWY would be #4.

Well, I would submit that an even worse position would be #101.

Look at it this way... Ms. Aguilera has three songs in the yearend top 23, probably enough to make her top female artist of the year on the pop chart. Not too shabby, eh?
