This is a Dance song that's been big on NYC radio since the summer. However, it is now starting to take off at Pop radio picking up a few adds each week now. Most important, its on high rotation on Z100 and its also on KIIS!
Anyway, it's been awhile since we've had as Dance hit and this is in my opinion the best one of the year. So much better than "Something." I don't see an adds date but do you guys think it might go somewhere anyway?

I don't think it's better than "Something". They're both about the same quality, pretty mediocre dance tracks. If it does make the Top 40 at CHR/Pop, it won't be by much.

I'm surprised my station hasn't picked this up yet, they love dance music! I have not heard this song, but if Rebirth's opinions reflect mine ("Alone" being worse than "Something") than I defnitely will not like this song!

Hasn't this song been playing for like 4-5 months now?

I think it started getting some airplay last winter. Yes, it is an old song. It is just now getting attention because Z100 added it. I like this song, but it's not great, and it's not as good as "Something". I think this will do well at the dance-friendly stations, but it won't cross over to the smaller markets. I don't think it's going to build enough to be a top 40 hit. Right now, Z100 and the other dance-friendly CHRs are having trouble finding dance hits that are compatible with their audience, and so a song like this is going to be played more simply because it's one of the few out there. As a dance fan, I'm glad for Alone's success, but I can think of a lot of dance songs that are hotter right now, though I can't necessarily say they have the same mainstream appeal.

I heard KIIS added a bunch of dance songs because 103.1 (the former 'dance' station) flipped formats and they are trying to get the dance listeners to switch to KIIS.

It's quite old, and a follow-up to a dance song. As such, I doubt it'll have much chance.

It's Indie 103.1 .. Alternative Yuk. That's all I have to say. I sure won't be listening to that..... As for "Alone," I hope it does well at Pop radio. It's a pretty great song. I doubt it'll chart though.

The more I hear this, the more I love it. This is really popular among my friends right now too... and my friends usually have very narrow tastes in music (Dave Matthews Band type groups and that's it lol).

I hope this can build up enough steam to be a huge cross-over hit. I have only been listening to it for a couple of days but I can't get it out of my head

The better question would be can this pull an "Alice Deejay." Remember, "Better Off Alone?"
How well did that do?
