Sticky this please :) Very little action this week since Mediabase has been frozen since Tuesday. So far: Top 30 entry: Good Charlotte (32-30) Top 40 entry: Mary J. Blige/Eve (41-38) Top 50 entries: Mya (44), Ruben Studdard (49), Kelly Clarkson (50, re-entry) Top 40 dropper: Enrique Iglesias (36-43) Top 50 droppers: Fefe Dobson (46-off), Youngbloodz (48-off), Mya (49-off) Note that LW positions are taken from last week's unpublished chart. The entries and droppers could change if Mediabase unfreezes before Sunday night.

I can't really tell what is going on at mediabase, I'll wait until the spins are updated, I wonder if Outkast will pass Nickelback by Sunday? I'm almost positive now that Outkast will be the next #1, and Nickelback won't have a chance. I think Kelis may lose her bullet within the next few weeks, the song is beginning to get really annoying, it was from the beginning but then it was funny and stupid, but now it's just getting really old. "Headstrong" will probably stay in the top 10 and Beyonce will fall out by Ludacris, who looks like he may lose his bullet soon, I have a feeling that Christina will be the first #11 peaker of 2004. Jessica Simpson looks like she may make the top 10 in a few weeks!! Linkin Park should make a really huge leap next week as all of the unbulleted songs will slide below them, I'm beginning to think they may be the next #1 after back-to-back Outkast songs. Maroon 5 will go recurrent, and does the 2 week break count as 2 weeks or just 1?? Sarah McLachlan lost her bullet, but I'm fairly sure she'll regain it very soon!

Linkin Park was gaining +600 before the freeze - most likely their spin gains will climb back up to that level after the break. Probably #1. I'm starting to get convinced that this is one of the better songs on the album.

...does the 2 week break count as 2 weeks or just 1? It counts as zero, if you're referring to the R&R "weeks on chart" numbers.

Urgh, Clay should not be losing that much! >:( >:( >:( Let's hope his losses lower dramatically when the stations get back to their regular routine. That song is PERFECT for pop radio. Meanwhile, speaking of songs that stations will continue to play to death , I see that Hey Ya continues to hold onto a minor bullet. Honestly, there is no song right now that will overtake Hey Ya in the next month. I suspect that The Way You Move will slow down in the next couple weeks. I want Hey Ya out of there already! OK, it's not a horrible song, but I am SOOO sick of it! Britney continues to make her rise to the top 50 with Toxic and the pre-impact spins!

It looks like the Ataris may make new & active next week, if it keeps a bullet, same with John Mayer.

You think "Invisible" is perfect for pop radio, lol. I personally find that hard to believe, the song is kind of bland and average to me. It's alright I guess. It seems too AC-ish IMO, but that's my own thing. I guess according to your definition, I'll represent the minority of pop listeners. :)

I think it will lose its bullet too soon. However, I think it will maintain its bullet long enough for it to reach #3 or #2 or if something happens #1 for a short time

I can't believe Kelis' album is plummeting down the charts. What's happening there? "Milkshake" was the most popular song before Christmas and now everyone that i have talked to agrees that the song has become the most annoying song on radio.

It had tons of hype and the rhythm was slightly catchy, but I said pretty much from the beginning that there was little value in the song. Obviously the song does not age well.

"My Love Is Like... Wo" is back in the Top 50, so Mya could have two songs enter in one week. Has that ever happened before? Kelly Clarkson lost her bullet, giving her two dropping currents.

"My Love Is Like... Wo" is back in the Top 50, so Mya could have two songs enter in one week. Probably won't happen. Since 12/19 was MLILW's 20th week on, it would have to be moved to recurrent status once R&R resumes publication. Don't know about the top 50. I know it's been done for the top 40 -- in 1997, Elton John debuted the same week with both "Candle In The Wind 1997" and "Something About The Way You Look Tonight".

Anybody want to mail us the "final update" after the site came back up, and/or the last update before the site went down? Since some of you have my email address, I'll wait to see who volunteers rather than posting it here unnecessarily (it's already getting out of control on the spam, presumably from previous spidering of it off the old boards...). I know of someone else who needs the update too, but I'll let him request it if he wants it! I am now the happy recipient of the final update! (I guess I could've just deleted this post, eh?

Comment on today's update: -Outkast's "The Way You Move" bullet drops to the 300s (from 400s yesterday, I believe) -No Doubt, Jessica Simpson, Dido, Fuel regain small bullets. -Kelly Clarkson and Kiley Dean seem to be done, because the other songs in the same part of the chart still have bullets. -I'm very surprised as to how small Alicia Keys' bullet is. I am just starting to love this song (it debuted on my chart this week.)
When is the chart gonna be back to normal? It's been "off" for what seems like forever, and it's starting to piss me off. When will stations go back to normal?

From the strange trends of many songs, I'm thinking that we can't count on the loss of a bullet right now meaning much. Let's wait and see where these songs are in about 3 or 4 days.

I'd say it'll be at least a week after New Years before everything is back to normal. I know both stations here at least are planning to do a top 100 of the year countdown tommorow night.

Mya's "Fallen" isn't listed as a debut or Top 10 New and Active in the most recent published chart topic. If it wasn't on the chart, it along with Sarah McLachlan (Number 52) could make two debuts with the same title. Has that ever happened before?

I know back in 1988, Cheap Trick and Bobby Brown both entered Billboard's top 40 the same week with different " Don't Be Cruel" songs, but Bobby entered three weeks later than Cheap Trick on the R&R chart.

Good! Songs are slowly starting to regain their bullets again! I'm glad to see Evanescence is finally soon to pass up Good Charlotte! It's rare to see pop radio realize a song is a great song!
I'm also hapyy to see P!nk's bullet begin to get bigger.

When is the chart gonna be back to normal? It's been "off" for what seems like forever, and it's starting to piss me off. When will stations go back to normal? Well, 38 of the top 40 gainers on today's update are recurrents, so a quick answer would be "not yet". But I would think things will start getting back to normal with tomorrow's update. AT40 and Rick Dees will be back to weekly countdowns this weekend, and most stations probably won't be doing much in the way of year-end countdowns after today either. So in a week from Saturday we should see the first of what would be normal weekly spins, and a week after that we should finally be seeing normal trends again.
