After Kelly's massive number 1 hit in America with Miss Independent she didn't quite manage to capture the British audience with it here where it managed a number 6. Let me remind anyone who doesn't know, number 6 in the UK is OK, but it isn't anything to put on your mantlepiece. Her latest UK single, LOW/THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE IS, despite heavy promotion was a major flop. It got to number 35. And let me remind you, a songs debut position is usually it's peak. Here's what was said on www.dotmusic.com35 LOW/THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE IS (Kelly Clarkson) Don't you just love ironic singles titles. American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson appeared to be on to a good thing when her first international single Miss Independent made a strong appearance at Number 6 back in September. Despite Pop Idol fever gripping the nation once more it appears that this cannot rub off onto international stars and her second chart hit will go down as a major flop.

I never fully understood the UK charts, are the charts recorded with spins? If so, about how many spins does the average #1 get? About how many does the average #10 get?

Can't say I'm surprized. Agreed 100%. For that matter, "Low" flopped in the US as well, at least relatively speaking. I don't see why the song would do any better in the UK, except maybe for the fact that in the UK, second singles tend to do better than otherwise expected due to success of the first single. Not this time!

It's a shame that "The Trouble With Love Is" had to flop with "Low."

I don't think Kelly Clarkson cares. If she doesn't care why was she on as many TV shows as possible during the run up to TTWL/L???

It's a shame that "The Trouble With Love Is" had to flop with "Low." I agree fully. TTWLI is a much better song than "Low". It deserved alot better than a #35 peak. :(

If she doesn't care why was she on as many TV shows as possible during the run up to TTWL/L??? Simon prolly forced her to. I bet you the single will ignite once she wins "World Idol" come the New Year's! :)
