As expected, Australian Idol winner, Guy Sebastian, debuts at #1 with his album Just As I Am. The album is certified 5 times platinum in week 1 (WTF! I wonder how much it actually sold). Delta Goodrem is pushed back to #2 after 27 (non-consecutive) weeks at #1, with her album now certified 13 times platinum.
The only other debut this week is Aled Jones at #43.
Guy Sebastian also rules the singles chart, with Delta Goodrem also at #2 here.
Debuts: #39 My Time - Dutch Feat. Crystal Waters #46 Powerless - Nelly Furtado
Delta needn't worry about not being #1 this week... she's #1 over on the ARIA DVD chart!

I read that the orders for Guy's album were up to 426 000, as of today. They were 280 000 as of last monday. So you gotta assume it's selling a SHITLOAD, otherwise stores wouldn't be ordering more so fast.

Reality TV show winner Guy Sebastian debuted at number one today on the ARIA chart with double platinum figures with sales coming mainly from the Department stores.
Sebastian's 'Just As I Am' walked out of department stores like Kmart by the truckload along with new pairs of undies, socks and cheap clock radios. Just over 55% of all sales of the album came from department stores. Fewer than 14,000 units sold at independent music stores.
As of today (Monday) 'Just As I Am' has sold two times platinum.
All in all it was a good week for music sales in Australia with the Top 10 accounting for around 380,000 album sales.
Delta Goodrem increased sales yet again selling a further 51,615 units in her 38th week on the chart. She is truly the Australian idol.
Red Hot Chili Peppers 'Greatest Hits' sold 31,691 units, John Farnham's 'One Voice' added in a further 25,375 sales and Powderfinger's 'Vulture Street' clocked up a further 22,900 sales.
Christmas must be coming.

Slightly more specific: 163 000 albums in the first week... which is a record.
Here's the article:
Guy rewrites history
AS Guy Sebastian gets set for his spot on World Idol in London, back home he is dominating the charts in a record way.
Sebastian's album Just As I Am stormed to the top of the charts as predicted, selling 163,000, according to sources.
This has never been done in the history of the ARIA charts in just one week.
It shipped 350,000 copies from record company BMG, which means it has gone five-time platinum in one week.
To put this in perspective, Powderfinger's hit album Vulture Street has also gone five-times platinum, but it was in the charts for 23 weeks.
Sebastian's rise to the top of the charts has come at Delta Goodrem's expense, with her album Innocent Eyes falling to No. 2 after spending 27 weeks at No. 1.
It will be interesting to see if Goodrem can reclaim top spot in the next couple of weeks.
She is now up to 910,000 sales, so that magical one million mark is very close.
Sebastian's single Angels Brought Me Here is No. 1 for the third week in a row, with Goodrem's Predictable at No. 2 for the second week.
Australian Idol runner-up Shannon Noll's cover of What About Me went to radio yesterday and will be released in early January.
