1. Dido - Life For Rent 2,168,000 2. Justin Timberlake - Justified 1,300,000 3. Christina Aguilera - Stripped 1,150,000 4. Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This 1,030,000 5. Norah Jones - Come Away With Me 6. The Darkness - Permission To Land 1,027,000 7. Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head 8. Michael Jackson - Number Ones 961,000 9. Busted - Busted 10. REM - In Time Best Of 11. Avril Lavigne - Let Go 12. Will Young - Friday's Child 860,000 13. Black Eyed Peas - Elephunk 14. Beyonce - Dangerously In Love 15. Evanescence - Fallen 16. Delta Goodrem - Innocent Eyes 17. R. Kelly - R In R & B Greatest Hits 18. Red Hot Chill Peppers - By The Way 750,000 19. Busted - A Present For Everyone 20. Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Greatest Hits
This is for strictly 2003. For example, "Stripped" sold 150,000 last year which would give it a grand total of 1,300,000.
There's no surprise at Dido being #1 and I'm very happy over Christina being in the top 3 and Delta being #16 and Dido being #1. Busted should be congratulated for having one album in the top 10 and then another in the top 20, as should RHCP for having two CD's in the top 20.

I am pretty ignorant about UK sales (as I do not watch or examine them as much as US sales) but what are the chances of Christina passing 2 million in sales? Good or not good?
Dido's sales are amazing. And well deserved in my opinion.

Christina won't pass 2 million. If she releases a 6th single she might get to about 1.3-1.4 mill, but 2 million is a HUGE figure here.
She's done exceptionally well though. The debut never passed gold status.

The debut never passed gold status. You're right, she more than likely won't hit 2 million as that's an insane amount to sell in the UK. But she is already at 1.3 million sold in total. I think she can reach 1.5 million with or without a sixth single - she has the Brits to push her early next year.

Ok :) I was assuming she would sell at least 1.5K since she is at 1.3-1.4K right now and still in the top 20. Which is a great total for her :)

Kylie Minogue - Body Language 250,000 copies
No doubt she's atleast in the top 50 of 2003, still disappointing nonetheless.

What? It says she's had a very succesful year. Only a complete idiot would dispute that anyway...

There must be a lot of complete idiots here then. Several members here say she is a complete flop with her Stripped album. I personally think her overseas sales are outstanding. I also know people who have said Beyonce's album is a huge flop. I dont know where these people are coming from. I mean....how much does an album have to sell now to not be seen as a flop!?!?

Yeah, Beyonce's album had 2 #1 singles. Not what I'd call flop material at all. If it is, then I'd like to flop too

lol I know, thats how I feel Both ladies have sold millions, had huge hits, and have won/been nominated for many awards this year (including Grammys) How on earth can that be called a flop? I want to flop in the music business if thats what it means to flop I think most musicians and people would like to flop like that.

I think she's probably closer to (or above) 1.4 million than she is 1.3 million. She was certified 900k 19 (or 20) weeks ago, and that itself, as usual for RCA, was late, and the last five weeks alone she's sold about 300k (just under 80k this past week).
She'll easily go over 1.5 million, whether she has a sixth single or not. There's no way she'll be ignored at the Brit Awards, and i'd expect her to perform there too.
And apparently Stripped is now #7 in the new midweeks. :o

Whoa! Once again, I do not know that much about UK sales, but I am assuming it would be very good if it moved top 10 right now!

I'm not a fan but where's Robbie Williams' album on this list? I would have thought that it would have made the top 20 in the UK. It did in Australia.

Good list, especially Delta Goodrem in the top 20! I love Delta's album, it's fantasic for a debut and for her age! I was secretly hoping she'd be above Beyonce though - both albums were released on the same day and Beyonce beat her, but Delta had the most longevity. She will outsell Beyonce overall, IMO, and will go 3 X Platinum in the UK!

Delta's album is so much better than Beyonce's, sheesh!
Great that Delta has sold the same amount given Beyonce's huge singles and profile. Delta's album gives me faith that good music does have its place on the charts amongst a lot of trash.
