After being displaced to #2 for 4 weeks by Australian Idol Guy Sebastian... Delta Goodrem's album is back at #1 for her 28th week. Now it is a possibility she could be in the running for the longest running #1 of all time, she will need to beat 34 weeks (which is how long Dire Straights "Brothers In Arms" spent at the top).

Does she have a chance? Are any extremely-popular-in-Australia artists releasing any albums soon?

I think she has a chance. The album has shown remarkable legs and is nearing 1 year on the chart without having ever gone below #3!

Looking at the schedule, I don't see any threats in the next month until 9th Feb when Australian Idol runner-up Shannon Noll releases his debut album. If she stays #1 til then, that'll be another 4 weeks making it 32 weeks. Shannon may not even make #1 but I guess he will, but perhaps Delta could get back on top after that. Who knows, "Innocent Eyes" has to slow down some time and after 5 singles and so long on the charts the time may be soon.... any of these weeks could be her last. It'll be weird not having Delta at #1, I've become so used to it.
