Her first album made her absolutely huge in Australia. Then her success just disappeared. Totally. It was scary. she went from hot to nothing in a matter of months.....
That weird half-new CD can't have helped. I think her management was appalling.
I love her debut CD to death. Quality pop throughout. 'Absolutely Everything' is a classic. A real shame she was a one-hit wonder here with that' I really liked the followup 'Shine' but it got no attention and was cancelled. I think 'Everytime I close my eyes' or 'Have A Look' could've done better.

Released a follow-up album "Change" in some parts of Europe. It flopped. She released "SPIN (Everybody's Doin' It)" in Australia last year; it flopped. She released "One Thing Leads 2 Another" at the same time in Germany and other European countries; it flopped. "True To Yourself" (which was quite good) was the 2nd single for Germany, it flopped as well.
She scrapped an Australian release for the album "Change" and is planning to make a new album there.
She is no longer with her record company in Germany.

Poor Vanessa! I never cared for her voice, to be honest.

I don't know!?!?
I actually liked her first album singles... I started out hating all of them and then slowly I ended up liking them all and buying all the singles (4!) but not the album.
Her voice was quite annoying. She talked like she was an acclaimed rock writer/singer like Alanis or something when her music was quite poppy.
I think that half assed 'new' CD was the beginning of the end for her - it was confusing and weird, I still don't understand what that CD was meant to be?? After that radio never played her and she got no interest (it's almost scary but it was like as soon as that CD came out it was instantaneous). If they had done things properly she might still be around today. She could make a comeback though.

She's still playing shows in Australia if you check her official website...
