UK Midweeks - 05.10.2004
Robbie leads on singles 05 October 2004 - 11:53:36
Eric Prydz' spell at the top looks set to be spoilt by Robbie Williams this weekend, with Radio (Chrysalis) - the precursor to Williams' Greatest Hits album - outselling Call On Me by almost two to one since its release yesterday.
With a brace of high new entries from Duran Duran (Sony), Rachel Stevens (Polydor), Khia (Direction), Lucie Silvas (Mercury), Good Charlotte (Sony), Angel City (Data) and Christina Milian feat. Joe Budden (Def Jam), last week's sole other Top Ten survivor looks likely to be Ronan Keating's I Hope You Dance (Polydor).
In the albums market, REM's Around The Sun looks set to give the trio their seventh chart-topping long player, while Barry Manilow's Ultimate Manilow (Arista) will be vying for a top five entry. Tom Waits' Real Gone (Epitaph), Fatboy Slim's Palookaville (Skint) and Super Furry Animals' Songbook - The Singles Vol. 1 (Epic) will settle for a Top 20 debut.

1 (new) Radio - Robbie Williams 2 (1) Call On Me - Eric Prydz 3 (new) (Reach Up For The) Sunrise - Duran Duran 4 (new) More More More - Rachel Stevens 5 (new) My Neck, My Back, Lick It - Khia 6 (new) What You're Made Of - Lucie Silvas 7 (2) I Hope You Dance - Ronan Keating 8 (new) Predictable - Good Charlotte 9 (new) Do You Know (I Go Crazy) - Angel City 10 (new) Whatever You Want - Christina Milian

Wow, go Rachel! I didn't think "More" X3 was a great single but I'm glad it did good for her. Now hopefully she'll be able to make a great second album!

I must say im pretty disappointed with the sales of Afrodisiac, such a great single, top 2 on trl and various other countdowns but why is she stuck at 14?

Wow...congrats to Robbie on his fifth #1 single and his first in over three years. Anyone heard the song yet? Radio will be his 6th UK #1. Millennium, She's The One / It's Only Us, Rock DJ, Eternity / The Road To Mandalay, and Something Stupid are his previous #1s. Radio will also bring his UK singles total over 5 million! I like the song and am glad it is doing well on the charts.

Radio is one of robbie's best, poor sales for a #1 though, but guess people are waiting for the greatest hits...
