I hear Ronan Keating's new single will be a cover of Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance." As of now, it's scheduled for a September 27 release in the UK.

Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh UGH!
I fucking HATE Ronan Keating. The man has made a CAREER out of massacring country songs that aren't known in the UK. Last time he released an original single it flopped, so he used 'She Believes In Me' to save himself, again. Now he's doing it AGAIN....

Yeah he's done this way too many times already. It's pathetic.
If Tomorrow Never Comes The Long Goodbye In This Life Once Upon A Lifetime She Believes In Me When You Say Nothing At All
And not one of those is better than the original version.

I kinda liked his version of "When You Say Nothing At All" but I hate cover artists. Why are people in the UK still lapping up his singles?

Because they don't realise these songs are covers.... Country music isn't popular here. Only Shania, Faith & LeAnn have scored hits. Even Dolly Parton's only had two top 40 hits (Jolene & islands In the Stream, both peaking at #7)
His last album flopped though. His time is drawing short, even if this gives him another undeserved hit, it's for a greatest hits. I'm sure his next studio album will go nowhere.

This is a pretty unnecessary cover, IMO. This song is pretty much LAW's signature song. I do agree that his cover of "When You Say Nothing At All" is decent, though nowhere near as good as Alison Krauss' version.

He's only doing what he loves doing and I'm glad he does coz I wouldn't have given these songs a second thought because without him I wouldn't have heard them. I doubt he has a say in what songs are chosen for him to sing. The record company will still choose the things that make more money for them. I'm glad he's covered this it's a great song and I'd never heard of it before now.

Hey he actually Co wrote The Long Goodbye and he changed the words for She believes in me and some of the others were off his first album and actually wrote for him and if u listen to his latest album Turn It On u will find that all bar 2 songs were written by Ronan!

Have any of u ever listened to his latest album as it's 1 of the best that he has done, he's wrote all but 2 on there & he changed some of the words 2 'She believes in me'. This guy can't seem 2 do anything right with ppl like u, he gets slated for doing covers & for writting his own stuff, he just can't win.
I think 'I hope u dance' will b a big hit for him, his voice is well suited 2 this song & he sings it brilliantly live.

Like you'd sit back and let someone slag off your favourite artist! Somehow I don't think so!
So what we joined at the same time - it's a free country!

The Long Goodbye, In This Life and Once Upon A Lifeime weren't covers. Yes they were. I don't care if he wrote "The Long Goodbye". He allowed Brooks & Dunn to record it first, making his version a cover. And there's is better anyway. "In This Life" is a cover a Collin Raye song and "Once Upon A Lifetime" is a cover an Alabama song. Ronan fans: chill.

![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) i guess it shows the mentallity of the users on this board then doesnt it ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif) Almost as bad a mentality as joining here just to make 1 post in the form of an argument and taking stabs at long-standing members here. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) THIS IS NOT A FAN SITE. If you want to discuss artists and the charts in a way respectful towards other members and their (sometimes conflicting) opinions, you're welcome to stay. Otherwise, maybe you're better suited for a Ronan fansite. This topic is done.
