Shannon Noll Is A Hit In Ireland By Paul Cashmere 24 October 2004 Australian Idol runner-up Shannon Noll is an Irish idol. Noll has the number two song in Ireland this week with 'What About Me'. Although he came in at number two in the 2003 Australian version of the reality TV show, Noll has proven to be the one with endurance. He was the only Idol to back up his reality win with real hard-core touring and now after 37 weeks his album is still in the Australian Top 40. Noll has kept his band constantly on the road and will soon tour Australia with Bryan Adams. 'What About Me' was originally a hit in Australia for Moving Pictures in 1982. The song also reached number 29 in the USA. Moving Pictures later had a song on the Footloose soundtrack but broke up after just two albums. Songwriter Garry Frost went on to have local success in the 90's with the band 1927. Source: www.undercover.com.auCongratulations to Shannon doing so well in Ireland. BMG also have plans for him to release his music in Britain and America...Will he also be successful there??? Looks like Shannon Noll and Paulini are the real success stories to come out of 'Idol' as they are the only two from the 'Idol' franchise to debut at #1 and remain there for more than one week *without the aid of 'Idol' hysteria, which is why I'm excluding Guy's debut album*. I'm sure Paulini's album of original material will be a big hit in Australia. Especially with Sony behind her.

"What About Me" - future #1 Billboard Hot 100 smash!! :o ![:-x](http://images.proboards.com/lipsrsealed.gif) I'm suprised Paulini's second single flopped, I think it's really good, it deserved a top 5 position. I can't wait till her new album drops.
