Her new single, from the "Bridget Jones 2" soundtrack is a cover of Sam Brown's British soul classic. It sounds so close to the original. It's nice, but only because I love the original.

Yeah that's what I heard. Might sound ignorant but what is a "double A-side"? ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) Is that like a duo of singles simultaneously released?

Jamelia secures her spot as the UK's reigning RnB diva as "DJ"/"Stop" debuts at #9.

once a single debuts in the UK, is that normally the peak position or do the sells go up?
I just went to her site and heard clips of these 2 songs. "Stop" sounds ok....sounds like it has some old school flava.
"dj" sounds like a Christina Milian song. It reminds me of "get loose" in particular. Its ok but nothing special.
Out of all the clips i heard none of her stuff sounds special...its just pretty average. Do they plan on tryin to break her into the US? They better come stronger than this.
But "bout" featuring Rah Digga sounds pretty hot from the clip.

The UK chart is based only on sales, so a sinlgle normally debuts in its peak position.
Probably not.

"Dirty Dirty" was on "The Simple Life 2" soundtrack and "Superstar" was on the "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" soundtrack. We keep hearing rumors her record company was going to push for her in the US this year.
But then again, they were talking about it back when her debut album came along and Craig David was making his US scene. Then Jamelia got pregnant and everything was cancelled.
"Bout" was the first single off the 2nd album and it flopped big time. I think they tried to make everyone forget by referring to "Superstar" as the first single.
Both singles "Superstar" and "Thank You" stayed in the charts for awhile. I think "Superstar" debuted at #8 or something before slowly rising up the UK charts until she peaked at #2 (I recall). It was a rare feat for a slow burner single.
