I heard this song in Aruba last week. It took me awhile to figure out what it was, but I found out by Google-ing the lyric that stood out to me in the first place which is "Why do people always change when memories always stay the same?"
I have no idea who this guy is, where he's from, or anything... anyone know?
Anyway, this song is sappy and sounds like it came out of the year 2000, but I like it anyway. I think it's current.

He's had a bunch of singles out, including a great remake of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car". From somewhere in the UK, I believe. His first single was my favourite, can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

Oh wow, he's British? I was thinking he was from some Caribbean island haha.
So is he known in the UK or not really?

Fairly well known. His first single "Story Of My Life" peaked at #10 last year. The followup (And my personal favourite of his) "Shining" reached #13, and his album went top twenty and has been certified Gold.
"Some Say" was his third single but it was a total flop at #54, and now he's doing a totally desperate and unnecessary cover of "Fast Car" hoping to gain a hit.
He does have a very nice voice though and i highly reccomend "Shining". It's fantastic.
