Simple Plan: "Perfect (Acoustic Version)" is Number 150. It's on WXXX, WXLK, KJYO, WVKS, KKRD, WKXJ, WAOA, and has 5 spins on other stations.

This is one of those cases (like DJ Sammy's "Heaven") where I think the two versions should be counted as one. It's not as if the versions are completely different (ala Jennifer Lopez).

I think "Heaven" needs to be counted separately to show that Adult Contemporary played the ballad version. I think "Times Like These (Acoustic)" charted separately also. What I go by is what version the different formats are playing. It sounds like most of airplay at its peak for "Ignition" and "Ain't It Funny" was for the remix where I don't think combining them was a big deal. With "I'm Real" there was the original, remix, and remix without Ja Rule's verse that Z100 and WKTU played which is significantly shorter than the remix CHR-Rhythmic and Urban played. It was posted that the original got some CHR-Pop airplay, and considering the battle on the Billboard Hot 100, it's possible "Fallin' " would have been Number 1 all eleven weeks one of those songs was Number 1 on that chart if "I'm Real" was counted as two songs, but I'm happy because I like "I'm Real (Remix)" a million times better. Shortly before that, there was another major complaint about what happened on the Billboard Hot 100, the "Loverboy" single. There are some songs that were remixed like "A New Day Has Come" and "Only Time" which had airplay combined on Mediabase as far as I know. Even if there is no official remix, you can't expect every single one of its spins to be exactly the same version.

I think they should be charted together, and so should have "Heaven." I'm not sure why they let JLO slide.

Most likely because Epic insisted that J. Lo's not be separate, and the labels for the others haven't.

Most likely because Epic insisted that J. Lo's not be separate, and the labels for the others haven't. Because in this case, it wouldn't matter much anyway in terms of chart position of the original. Besides, they're probably interested to find out how the acoustic version is doing.
