I think My Immortal will likely be the next #1. Numb has a shot at it, but I like others, think it will slowdown before it gets there. My Immortal on the other hand will start picking up big time as soon as it hits the top 10. Its very possible. I didn't realize how much it was gaining (+845 for this week).

i'll be very thankful if "Toxic" doesn't reach it, granted it's bullet is huge, but how long can it last? Outkast had gains in the thousands for both songs consistently.
Nickelback's bullet is shrinking considerably and though i will say that i love the song, i don't see it keeping it up long enough for it to grab the top spot.
Jessica might soon hit a wall, but not before she inches her way to the top 5
Linkin Park.. i don't know... it doesn't seem like a song that has enough staying power to keep it's gains to reach the top
"My Immortal" is a really nice song... and i would like to see it go to the top.. but it might take a few weeks before that happens...
so overall i see nothing... maybe Britney can pull another stunt to see her publicity again.. it wouldn't surprise me at all to see it

I'd much rather see Linkin Park, Nickleback or Evanescence - even Twista go #1 than Britney or Jessica go #1.

Boring is the only substance My Immortal has. Linkin Park's new song sounds too much like their last hit to get them all the way to #1. Right, I'm sure that's why Fallen is back in the top 5 on the Billboard 200 next week, because everyone thinks that the only substance "My Immortal" has is boring. It's actually a song a lot of poeple can connect too, it has a lot of emotion attached to it. But, there are people like you that can't appreciate beauty and just call it "boring" instead. That's just stupidity right there. Anyway. . .here's my input. LP seems to be slowing down somewhat while Evanescence and Jessica seem to be gaining still. I can see "Toxic," "My Immortal," "With You," "Numb," and "Slow Jamz" all reaching top 5 in 1 or 2 months. It's up in the air which one will be number one though, but my bet is that "Toxic" will be number 1, and My Immortal will probably sneak in there too after "Toxic"'s run. I think people are underestimating "Toxic" because of MATM's lack of success and longetivity. It seems like there is a huge response to the song and it doesn't seem to be slowing down too much right now.

"Someday" is my favorite of the contenders mentioned on this page.

I think its boring and is a song that I sprint to my radio to turn the station whenever it comes on. Who knows why people bought the album. I like the first single but that doesn't mean I think it has substance. Seriously, I just listen and buy songs that sound good to me. I don't try to make a song more superior than another based on the myth that has more substance. I simply say I just think it sounds better IMO. I think Toxic will get there. I think it possible for My Immortal and probably more likely given Britney Spears chart history.

Well "Someday" has now lost it's bullet, so Jessica Simpson is taking the lead for #1, her bullet is still very strong, +742.

I dunno, that's just befuddling to me.

Truth of the matter is, not everyone likes ballads. I'm not really a fan of ballads. My Immortal happens to be an excellent ballad, but again, I can see that there's an audience that just doesn't like them. Nothing personal against Ev, just against ballads.
That being said, I hope it hits #1. There's been a pretty good response for it.

Now Nickelback has lost their bullet.
I'm really betting on Linkin Park, Evanescence, and Britney Spears getting to the top (2 out of 3)
I just can't see Jessica Simpson getting there with a pure pop song (not that I don't WANT to see it happen, i just don't think it's likely.) I can't see a ton of stations playing this song 80x a week. It would get SO annoying.
I can only seeing it get up about 60x max on most stations. When a true "pop" song hits #1, it REALLY burns out.
(There's Gotta Be) More to Life by Stacie Orrico started to burn out for me and it only reached #6!

I like some ballads but usually they have to grow on me.
