I notice you've mentioned many songs that are [IMO] latin, but however with a Spanish title. What do you look for that makes it latin? IMO, it either has to be in Spanish or by a Latino artist...S Club doesnt cut it for me...

I consider any song in or partly in Spanish to be Latin.

Yes, even some songs in Spanish by a "Latin" artist don't count for me. BTW, what's a Latin artist? I would say that a person who sings Latin songs is a Latin artist, but since that was sort of the question I don't think it really works for the definition. For latin music I would expect it not to be procuded like an American/European song and would include some type of regional/specialized instrumentation, but I don't think it has to be in Spanish. I think saying it has to be in Spanish is limiting. It's more about the feeling and the music than the language (but the language certainly plays into it to a large degree).

A Latin song is any music made by a Latin artist. It does NOT have to be salsa, or even in Spanish. That's just common sense. Michael New Orleans www.michaelduvic.com

well for me I would call any song that's in Spanish a Latin song, regardless of the artist or style of the song
but I wouldn't call any song that has a Spanish title or a Spanish line a Latin song, nor just any song by a Latin artist..
like I wouldn't call "I Want You" by Thalia a Latin song just because she's a Latin artist.. but I would call "Me Pones Sexy," the Spanish version of it, a Latin song

Latin songs can really be of any genre though. But when compiling my chart and choosing a genre for each song, I just call all the songs in Spanish "Latin."

It's quite a good question because I thought it was really stupid classing Geri Halliwell's Mi Chico Latino as a latin song.

Sung in Spanish lol
When I hear Latin I think of something in Spanish, uptempo that you can dance to, but it can also be slower songs sung in Spanish, I guess. Although those could be called "Spanish songs" lol
