:o :o New album from La Onda? With the new member? I'm shocked! I didn't even know it was released.
Hot on the heels of...no hit single, comes La Onda's third album, "¡Agarra La Onda!" ("Get With It!"), on June 29! (Latin labels are so loyal! They release albums regardless of how the single is performing. Angela Via needs to hook up with one!)
1. Pasito Tun Tun
6. Ojo X Ojo
2. Late
7. Que Subele, Que Bajale
3. Otra Vez
8. El Mandon
4. Adorame
9. Desesperada
5. Los Tres Pretendientes
10. Agarra La Onda!
Already down to $8 on Amazon. Can't wait for it to go under $5 so I can buy it.
Here's what it says on their EMI site:
Marketing Highlights: First single TBC sent to radio (May 21)
Video available (Early June)
Press kits serviced to media (June)
National TV/press/radio promo tour in Miami (June 25-30)
Texas and West Coast promo tours (July)
U.S. tour (June-August)
La Onda first hit the Latin music scene with their widely successful norteño version of "Aserejé (The Ketchup Song)" in late 2002. Since then, the progressive norteño act from South Texas picked up a gold record and numerous accolades at the prestigious Latin Billboard Awards adn Univision's Premio Lo Nuestro. Last year, La Onda's second release titled "Otra Onda" churned out the hit singles "Así, Así" and "Mi Cucu", the latter of which featured Control.
In "Agarra La Onda" (Get With It), La Onda's third release, the group continues to explore uncharted territory in the Regional Mexican world. In thier quest for innovation, La Onda recruited acclaimed songwriters Guy Roche (Christina Aguilera, N Sync) and Claudia Brant (Santana, Kumbia Kings, Cristian) to brew fresh, hip material. The pop-inflected tunes were then passed through the "cumbia-filter" under the guidance of co-producer Sergio Degollado, Frontman of top cumbia norteño act Control. the album also includes a hot cumbia remake of Marta Sanchez's 90's hit "Desesperada" and an amusing version of "Pasito Tún Tún", a Cuban classic.
Once again, La Onda is ready to take over the charts, so...Get With It! or Agarra La Onda!
