Who would of ever thought a year ago that Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears would be duking it out for #1.
Looking at trends, it looks as though one or both will get to the top. They really have no competition. "Someday" is about to loose its bullet again. It has lost spins since yesterday. "My Immortal" is slowing and is not all that radio frinedly. "Numb" is also stumbling.
What are your predictions on this issue?

Shouldn't this be in the "Opinion" forum?
But anyway, I think Jessica will reach #1 and stay there for a week, with Britney right behind her to claim it for herself. Britney should be up there for ~3 weeks.
"My Immortal" is radio-friendly.

Jessica is slowing down a bit. Still very strong, but with Outkast (TWYM) falling slowly, and Nickelback still bulleted, she may struggle I think.
Britney is still looking very strong.
I really want Jessica to get a #1. If she help of Britney it'd be quite hilarious, but even if they both get one, amazing achievement for Simpson.
I'd love for her to break teh top ten on the hot 100 too. Surely with a #1 CHR single she would?

Oh dear.
Out of the 5 #1 contenders, the two I would most like to see sitting at #1 are 2500 and 3000 spins away.
Out of "Someday", "Toxic" and "With You", I'd rather see "Toxic" at #1.

I find American capacity for enjoying boring songs incredible. Nickelback have been around since about September of last year, and it's a boring song anyway. Who in the planet is STILL wanting to hear it?

"Toxic" is far more deserving of #1 than "With You" and "Someday". I actually think "My Immortal" will be the next #1, but that won't happen for another few weeks.

At the very least though, Jessica Simpsons song hasn't been around for THAT long... I just find it totally insane.

Out of Britney and Jessica, I'd more want "Toxic" to hit #1, although I wouldn't mind "With You" on top either.

hey, don't shortchange My Immortal so soon. It still has a lot of potential. hmph! >:( anyway, between Jessica and Shitney, I'd much prefer "With You" to take the #1 spot. Although really, the only real deserving #1 song in the top 10 right now is My Immortal. But ya'll know that's my very biased opinion. ;) And I agree, it's about time that overrated Nickelback loses it's bullet. That song needs to DIE!!!! : >:(

Its about time real pop artists got #1's instead of artists that are from other formats.

Keith didn't you argue that Pop is not an independent fromat... Instead, it was the best of other formats. THat's what it used to be. Pop is now an independent format. If it was the best of the other formats then Britney Spears/Jessica Simpson wouldn't be on it because they don't get much support from the other formats.

I cannot believe that either of them is in the top 5 - especially at the same time.

Jessica and Britney racing to number one. Who woulda thunk it? I certainly wouldn't have looking at the CHR/Pop chart lately.

I would like With You to be #1 and then have Toxic be the next #1.
