Here are some sample hours from Wild 100.7 from Corinth, Mississippi. They only have a pop of 14,000 so that could explain the songs they play and when.
Feb. 10 (3-4pm) Away From the Sun-3 Doors Down 100 Years-Five For Fighting Air Force Ones-Nelly Cold and Empty-Kid Rock Save Me-Dave Matthews Hit That-Offspring Semi Charmed Life-Third Eye Blind Behind Blue Eyes-Limp Bizkit Tiny Dancer-? (didn't sound like Tim or Elton) Hero-Chad Kroeger The First Cut is the Deepest-Sheryl Crow Falls on Me-Fuel Youth of the Nation-POD Boys of Summer-Ataris Taking My Life Away-Default Wanted Dead or Alive-Bon Jovi (new version) All the Small Things-Blink 182
Not too unusual but... from about 5.30 - 7.00 pm:
You Shook Me All Night Long-ACDC ??? Harder to Breathe-Maroon 5 Start Me Up-Rolling Stones ??? With You-Jessica Simpson Are You Gonna Be My Girl-Jet Superstition-Stevie Wonder ??? Behind Blue Eyes-Limp Bizkit unkown classic rock song Milkshake-Kelis Drift Away-Uncle Kracker It's My Life-No Doubt 21 Questions-50 Cent Holidae Inn-Chingy What's Luv-Fat Joe/Ashanti Taking My Life Away-Default Extraordinary-Liz Phair Girls All the Bad Guys Want-Bowling for Soup Voice Within-Christina Aguilera Shorty Doowop-Baby Bash Trouble-Kelly Clarkson Early 90's dance song
I thought it was strange to hear AC/DC, the Stones and Stevie Wonder with Jessica Simpson in the middle. After 6pm they didn't play anymore classic rock tunes, sounds like some serious dayparting to me.

LOL... that isn't really strange to me though. Hits 106 was like that, but even more so. They're also in a small town. They played (and still do play) way too much classic rock, though I don't mind classic rock as much as I used to. When I visited the 'rents over Christmas the first song I heard on that station Lies by Fletwood Mac... lol. In fact I wish the pop station here was more like that. A few years ago I got so sick of them playing that AC/DC song almost every day & I wished they would have stopped adding every new & old Rolling Stones song that came along (even though I like Anybody Seen My Baby and Saint of Me now.)

Maybe they have some sort of classic rock on the drive home show? Haha, I dont know. My local CHR/Pop plays 80's/90's songs such as Vanilla Ice, Prince, Tone Loc, etc on Friday evenings...

Actually this station is alright (maybe because its different). They played Ruben Studdard's "Sorry 2004" then Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

I liked 106 just for that reason. I called them up a few times and managed to get them to substitute Def Leppard or Guns N Roses for AC/DC. Soem very good programming as far as I'm concerned. I HATE playlists that only play 40 songs and nothing else. By the way, when you mentioned Kearney in a thread a while back I thought you knew I was from the area, I had no idea you were familiar with the area.

By the way, when you mentioned Kearney in a thread a while back I thought you knew I was from the area, I had no idea you were familiar with the area. I thought you were from there because awhile back there was a topic about "odd" songs on CHR/Pop. I mentioned a few and then you said the same ones and said something like "it's not just one station." But it was one station... haha. Yeah, I grew up there (and took the first available chance out.) It's not a terrible place per se but 18 years was more than enough for me. But each time I go through there now, they seem to have about 10 new stores/business structures/restaurants/etc. I can't blame them for trying... ;) Are you originally from there?

It looks like a good station to me. It has a lot of variety and plays pretty much whatever it feels like.

I actually grew up by Lincoln, NE. I got a job in Clay Center, NE but couldn't live there, too small, so we lived in Grand Island for about 2 1/2 years. It was okay, but I like Peoria, IL a lot better. Central Nebraska has some nice things and people that are happy there, more power to them, but I don't think I'd go back there.
