This is the 1st single from Aleks's follow-up album to MUNDO LITE which finally put him at the top of the Spanish language charts after nearly two decades of making music. The new album is called LECCION DE VUELO. Aleks has worked on this album for over 2 years and there are a lot of expectations. It will be interesting to see if he can replicate the success of ML. I really dig Aleks's music. I think he is one of the best artists in Spanish Pop. But... (you knew there had to be a "but") I'm not crazy about this first single. I mean it's a good song, but I have come to expect good songs from him. It has a feeling of "been ther done that." I was anticipating a track much more original and different. I'm starting to think Aleks peaked with DE NOCHE EN LA CIUDAD, one of my favorite albums of all time. I'll still give the new cd a chance, but I hope I'm not terribly dissappointed. Here's a live performance of the song. I don't think a video has been made yet. [ftp]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52LHyUJiXXM[/ftp]

No fans of this song in here?
It's picking up tons of airplay. I'll be surprised if it does not reach No. 1 around the time the album drops: June 26, 2007.

Yeah, I didn't like that live performance. The song seems very bland and like you said "been there, done that" kind of feel.

I have to admit this is growing on me. Every time I hear it, I gets a little better. The lyrics are nice. ;)

His album LECCION DE VUELO is released today. I really want to get it as soon as I have some moola. I can't believe I'm liking this song so much. At the beginning I was like "blah". I just hope radio doesn't saturate it to death!

It sounds better recorded. I still don't like though. Too whiny. We needed a danceable Aleks song for the summer!

"Noches de danzon" is pretty good. And then there's the collab. with Moenia which I have not heard yet, but I hear is also great.
I do like "intocable" the more I listen to it though. Definitely better than "te sone" from MUNDO LITE.

I love this jam! It was all over TV/radio in Mexico over the weekend!
Yes, it's a lot better than Te Soñe which bordered on boring.

I've never been into his music, but I recognize he's talented and does good music. I've heard Intocable many time on the radio here. I was actually surprised. It's not the style I was used to hear from him. In the last two weeks I heard what i guess has been chose as the second single, "Historias De Danzon Y Arrabal" and it goes even further away from what I was used to hear from him. Both songs are cool.
Anybody remembers Alek on the Mexican show Chiquilladas? :) I remember seeing him and Lucero in that show when they were little.

No 2007 Latin Grammy for Aleks, but his performance with La 5ta Estacion was night's highlight for me. He proved why when it comes to Latin Pop, he is one of the best Latin America has to offer!
