Which of these new female singer-songwriters do you think will have the bigger hit? Maria is currently higher on the charts (after recurrents are removed she should be at #33), but she has a weak bullet, wheras Fefe is currently gaining strong.
Where do you think they'll peak, and will either get another hit?

It's a tough call... let me look into my crystal ball...
Maria - #31 Fefe Dobson - #26
I doubt we'll still be hearing from either of them at this time next year.

You're probably right... I've heard two other songs from Maria's album and they're both pretty good, but don't sound like hits, neither does I Give, You take IMO.
If she gets a release here i'll buy the album. It's out on Tuesday in america (9/30) but i doubt it'll chart. Maybe it will lateer if 'I Give, You Take' does better than we expect.

Why hadn't I heard of these people before they hit the chart? I thought I would've at least heard either song or seen a video before the Top 50 got ahold of these two no-names.

Maria's music video for "I Give, You Take" is better than Ashanti's "Rain On Me"! The song is pretty good, I would expect it to be a small hit. I don't think she'll have a follow-up that'll do much.
I like Maria now because she is Samantha Mumba.

Both will be mediocre one-hit wonders anyway so what difference does it make. Excuse me if I don't see the difference between peaking at #36 and #37.

Maria is doing surprisingly well right now! #28 with a +231 bullet. However, she's in a total lockjam now, so i'm not sure how much further she can get.
I really like the song now.

I think that her sudden +231 is because of her debut on Casey Kasem's Top 40. This is the same for Staind and Live. Staind was slowing down, Live was bulletless and now it has a +79 bullet back!

I really like both songs, I hope Fefe Dobson can start gaining more soon!

I've heard both songs but I can't remember what they sound like, I actually heard Maria's for the first time, twice this weekend, but I've already forgot the melody and everything, so it's obviously not to memorable to me. "Take Me Away" I heard it the first about a month ago, and I thought it sounded really good, however a few weeks ago when I heard it again, I didn't think much of it. Ummm.... I guess I'm undecided on both songs right now, but at least it's nice to see some new singer-songwriters in the Top 40.

I like both songs as well, but Maria is catching on to me a smidge more tan Fefe. I heard a radio edit on The Rick Dees Countdown that makes me like the song even more.

Fefe Dobson is to Avril Lavigne as Samantha Mumba is to Britney Spears.
Fefe is probably more talented, but she won't be as successful.
No idea who Maria is, but Fefe (did they name her after a small poodle?) is getting coverage on MTV.

Fefe Dobson. She is getting tons of coverage on MTV. She is buzzworthy on MTV. She got mentioned on MTV News as a "You Hear It First" and tomorrow she is gonna be mentioned on TRL as a "Pre-RL". So I think she will have the bigger hit. Plus "Take Me Away" is a much better song.

Both songs aren't anything special, but I like "Take Me Away" a little more.
Wait, this isn't an opinion topic?
Maria should peak a bit higher than Fefe judging by the latest Mediabase totals.

Both have songs that are utterly forgettable. Heard both but can only remember how bland each song was.

I have to say Maria, since I feel bad for Samantha Mumba. She couldn't make it using her real name, "Kimberley Kelsey", or "Maria". When will her time come? :(

Neither of them blew me away. Maria was INSANELY BORING. I couldn't find anything special about her single. "Take Me Away" was nothing great, but I liked it for awhile.

Both songs aren't anything special, but I like "Take Me Away" a little more. I actually started liking "Take Me Away" more since I made this post, which made the final margin a greater one.

I actually really liked both songs! Maria's sounded like Aaliyah but her vocals were stronger which made the song less bland like Aaliyah's songs (sorry to Aaliyah fans, it's just my opinion). Although, Fefe's was much better and she has a great album and I have many other friends who agree! :)

I ended up liking the Fefe Dobson song much more. Dare I say this, but Maria I liked much better back when she was Samantha Mumba ;)

I think that both girls are very talented. I have both of their debut cd's and I must say that Maria has blown me away. Yet Fefe really surprised me I didn't expect to like her this much. It's obviously that Fefe will be more successful. I just wish Maria would get the recognition she deserves

I liked Maria as Samantha Mumba more too. And I ended up liking both Fefe's song and Maria's song, but Maria's song peaked higher on my chart.
