Since we're already gearing towards the New Year in a mere 2 months, what have been your top 10 songs (highlights) of 2003?
No particular order: 1. Coldplay - Clocks (without a doubt, this is probably one of the more memorable tracks of 2003) 2. Jewel - Intuition 3. Simply Red - Sunrise (what a way to use a sample!) 4. Dido - White Flag 5. Sarah McLachlan - Fallen (glad to see her back) 6. Evanescence - Going Under (too bad this one is being overlooked) 7. Matchbox 20 - Unwell (need I say more?) 8. Mandy Moore - Have A Little Faith In Me (a surprisingly good number; album is just as good) 9. Chantal Kreviazuk - Time (Couldn't get this one out of my head) 10. Beyonce f/Jay-Z - Crazy In Love (definitely overplayed, but at the same time, definitely a highlight)
Honorable mentions: Shania Twain - Forever And For Always Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent No Doubt - Running Good Charlotte - Girls & Boys Christina Aguilera - Fighter Fabolous f/Tamia - Into You Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not The One Celine Dion - Have You Ever Been In Love Monica - So Gone

Not based on how they did on my chart or anything, just my favorite 10 SINGLES of 2003 so far. (In other words my favorites as if I only heard each song once)
1. Sarah McLachlan - "Fallen" 2. TLC - "Damaged" 3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Dosed" 4. Jack Johnson - "Wasting Time" 5. Liz Phair - "Why Can't I?" 6. matchbox twenty - "Unwell" 7. Fabolous featuring Tamia - "Into You" 8. Bon Jovi - "Misunderstood" 9. Jewel - "Stand" 10. Third Eye Blind - "Blinded (When I See You)"
Honorable mentions: Jewel - "Intuition" probably in the Top 10, but I gave its place to "Stand" cuz I like it more ATM. Monica - "So Gone" Santana featuring Alex Band - "Why Don't You & I" Eve 6 - "Think Twice" Coldplay - "The Scientist" Mary J. Blige featuring Method Man - "Love @ 1st Sight" Goo Goo Dolls - "Sympathy" Foo Fighters - "Times Like These" Mariah Carey - "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" Busta Rhymes & Mariah Carey - "I Know What You Want" Live - "Heaven"

#1: matchbox twenty: Bright Lights (Though it still hit, it was still underrated at CHR/Pop. It should have been another Top-10 classic.
#2: Coldplay: The Scientist: (Beautiful ballad with a beautiful video to complement it.)
#3: Dixie Chicks: Travellin' Soldier: (Despite reaching #1, it never became te full-fledged classic it was meant to be. One of the best country anthems in years.)
#4: Queens Of The Stone Age: No One Knows: (My favorite alternative hit of 2003.)
#5: Jack Johnson: Taylor: (My favorite single he has released yet.)
#6: Live: Heaven: (Terribly overlooked single outside of Hot AC. "Birds of Pray" was a hit album waiting to happen that may be a los cause now.)
#7: Five For Fighting: 100 Years: (One of the most poetic anthems I've heard recently.)
#8: Black Eyed Peas: Where Is The Love?: (Most inspirational anthem of 2003 to me.)
#9: Outkast: Hey Ya: (A handful of memorable lyrics, an idiosyncratic beat, and a classy video.)
#10: R.E.M: Bad Day (Another largely overlooked single. It should have gone Top 20 on Hot AC.)
Honorable Mentions:
Counting Crows: She Won't Want Nobody Near (Adam's voice is better than ever, and his lyrics really can be felt here.)
Jewel: Intuition: (Whether those think she sold out or not, this pop song is quite cleverly written nevertheless.)
Jason Mraz: You And I Both: (His voice is deep and fresh as his lyrics are meaningful here)
Pete Yorn: Crystal Village (Most underrated artist of 2003)
Warren Zevon: Keep Me In Your Heart: (Just beautiful.)
Johnny Cash: Hurt: (A cover, but wow, what a heartfelt cover!)
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I was just tweaking my list actually:
My Top 10 of 2003:
1.) Sean Paul -- Get Busy 2.) YoungBloodz ft. Lil' Jon -- Damn! 3.) Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z -- Crazy in Love 4.) Lil' Jon ft. the Ying Yang Twins -- Get Low 5.) 50 Cent -- In Da Club 6.) Lumidee -- Never Leave You 7.) Evanescence -- Bring Me to Life 8.) Lil' Kim ft. 50 Cent -- Magic Stick 9.) Beyoncé ft. Sean Paul -- Baby Boy 10.) Nelly, P.Diddy & Murphy Lee -- Shake Ya Tailfeather
--Close Calls--
1.) Chingy -- Right Thurr 2.) Murphy Lee ft. Jermaine Dupri -- What Da Hook Gon Be 3.) Busta Rhymes ft. Mariah Carey & The Flipmode Squad -- I Know What You Want 4.) R.Kelly -- Ignition (Remix) 5.) Joe Budden -- Pump it Up 6.) Kanye West -- Through the Wire 7.) Matchbox Twenty -- Unwell 8.) 50 Cent ft. Snoop & G-Unit -- P.I.M.P. (Remix) 9.) R.Kelly -- Step in the Name of Love (Remix) 10.) Monica -- So Gone
and I have to include Stacie Orrico "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life" as a close call, I loved this song, still do.
I really wanted to squeeze in "Right Thurr", Murphy Lee and Busta & Mariah, but I just couldn't find anything to take out. I totally played out all the songs in my Top 10 and listened to them for months each, so that deserves a spot in my year-end list.
Favourite Remixes of 2003:
1.) Lumidee ft. Busta Rhymes & Fabolous -- Never Leave You (Remix) 2.) Lil' Jon ft. the Ying Yang Twins, Busta Rhymes & Elephant Man -- Get Low (Remix) 3.) Chingy ft. Trina & Jermaine Dupri -- Right Thurr (Remix) 4.) 50 Cent ft. Snoop Dogg, Lloyd Banks & Young Buck -- "P.I.M.P." (Remix) 5.) R.Kelly -- Step in the Name of Love (Remix)
--Too New to Include--
Twista ft. Kanye West & Jamie Foxx "Slow Jamz" Mary J. Blige ft. Eve "Not Today" Alicia Keys "You Don't Know My Name"
I was debating about Kanye West "Through the Wire", but I first heard that song in August, so even though it's still 'new' to alot of people now, it's not new enough for me to recognize it as such.
