These are the year-end #1s on the Rick Dee's chart from 1995-2002.
I'll choose "Torn" with "No Scrubs" at an extremely close second.

Aww... I was all prepared to vote for "Disco Duck". ;)
Instead, I went with "Torn".

"Complicated" eventhough it was so overplayed it still is a good song.

It's Dees, not Dee's. ;)
I'm voting for "Hanging By a Moment".

Sorry guys, but Rick Dees is a lame second-hand Casey Kasem! No offense ;) ¡VIVA EL CASEY!

"Complicated"... "You Were Meant For Me" would be my second choice.
And for the record, "No Scrubs" wasn't #1 on Rick Dees for 1999... because he didn't do a year-end show that year. However, on 2000's year end, he referred back to R&R's top 5 from 1999, which had Sugar Ray at #1.

"No Scrubs" is actually the only song I would listen to voluntarily out of those, never cared much for the others

I had to go with my girl, Avril! How is his year-end chart compiled? Anyone know? I think he takes the recurrentless Mediabase year-end chart which runs from January to December. He probably adjusts a few positions here and there as well (like he did with "Complicated") I voted for "Hanging By A Moment". "I Love You Always Forever" would've been second, for the record.

I had to go with my girl, Avril! How is his year-end chart compiled? Anyone know? By copying R and R's year-end chart and moving every rap song down an arbitrary number of places.

However, on 2000's year end, he referred back to R&R's top 5 from 1999, which had Sugar Ray at #1. Ah, you beat me to it. Yup, that's exactly what I would have said. 1. Lifehouse "Hanging By a Moment" (2001) [blue] A+[/blue] 2. Vertical Horizon "Everything You Want" (2000) [blue] A+[/blue] 3. Jewel "You We're Meant for Me" (1997) [blue] A+[/blue] 4. Sugar Ray "Every Morning" (1999) [blue] A+[/blue] 5. Avril Lavigne "Complicated" (2002) [blue] A+[/blue] 6. Donna Lewis "I Love You Always Forever" (1996) [blue] A[/blue] 7. Seal "Kiss From a Rose" (1995) [blue] A-[/blue] 8. Natalie Imbruglia "Torn" (1998) [blue] A-[/blue] Poor Jewel has no votes, so I threw her a bone.

I like "Hanging By A Moment" the best, but "Kiss From A Rose" and "Everything You Want" are also great.
I'm also confused by how he compiles his year-end chart. I would think it would be the same as for AT40 because they use the same chart source, but this isn't the case. Doesn't his chart year begin in December? If so, "Complicated" and "I Love You, Always Forever" shouldn't have been the year-end #1 for 2002 and 1996 respectively. If it begins in January, then why do so many recurrent songs from the previous year make it on the year-end chart?
