What are some of your favourite Christmas albums? Not only "Platinum Christmas" and "TRL Christmas" CDs, but also ones like "Merry Christmas" by Mariah Carey and "Ashanti's Christmas" by Ashanti. I've been in the Christmas mood for the past week already. I want to get a lot more Christmas albums this year.

Mariah's is the only one i own. I bought my ex the Destiny's Child christmas album but it isn't that good.
Johnny Mathis has a christmas album out that I use to listen to all the time when i was a kid and I still love it to this day. I just forgot the name of it.

Both Mariah's and Christina Aguilera's Christmas albums are really good in my opinion. They are the only two "pop" acts that I would allow to have Christmas albums in my household (they are both my wife's).
I generally prefer Trans Siberian Orchestra which gives some very dark but cool renditions of traditional Christmas songs.
But NOTHING beats the old classic mixed Christmas album with Bing Crosby, Glen Campbell, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Burl Ives etc. Those are the true classics that never get old to me.

I own a decent number, but Mariah's is hands down the best.
Other I enjoy are Now's Christmas, Reba McEntire's "Merry Christmas To You", Martina McBride's "White Christmas", and Patty Loveless' "Bluegrass & White Snow."

Martina McBride's and Reba's 2 Christmas albums are my favorites, but I also really like Boney M's, and the Christmas album that the cast of Ally McBeal put out, too.

I only own "TRL Christmas" so far and that's horrible. I would recommend Jo Davidson's "Merry Christmas and Happy New York" but I have only heard some of it online. I have to buy it this holiday.

My favourite is Mariah's too, but I really like Jaci Velasquez's too. I skip more on Mariah's, since some of them are really boring, imo. Maybe that makes Jaci's album better. At the bottom of my list is also "TRL Christmas." :( It's even worse than Radio Disney's "Holiday Jams"! (Billie's "Last Christmas" and Myra's "Frosty The Snowman" are good, though.) Christina Aguilera's is very good. Destiny's Child's is okay. NSYNC's is not good. 98 Degrees' is boring. 3LW's and B2K's are awful. Ashanti's will be very good, but probably not as good as Christina's. The clips already make it better than the ones that I already called awful.

Is the Disney's holiday jams the one with Evan Rachel Wood's song? The "Silver and Gold" song.. or was that another compilation? Or was it another compilation like "School's Out Chrismtas"? Myra was also on it. 98 Degree's is very boring. I remember I do own it... it's so forgettable I didn't even come to think of it! Be sure to purchase Jo Davidson's "Merry Christmas and Happy New York" at jodavidson.com ! :)

I wonder if Rebekah Del Rio has a Christmas album yet? :) Evan Rachel Wood might be on "Holiday Jams Vol. 2." That tracklisting sucks because Myra isn't on it. Also, Evan Rachel Wood and Myra (and Raven-Symone) are on "My Christmas Dream" (released 10/03). It's just a rehashed version of "School's Out Christmas." I still have to get those albums, but they aren't low enough on Amazon.com yet. Keep listening to Radio Disney this holiday season to hear Hilary Duff's "Santa Claus Lane" and Billie's "Last Christmas"! KMKY 1310 AM.

I'm sure if it's the same tracklisting, it's better to try and find a copy of "School's Out" at Amoeba. Why don't they capitalize on Evan Rachel Wood's success! (The girl has been in the critically acclaimed movie "Thirteen" and will be in the upcoming Oscar bait "The Missing" -- however, both movies were not aimed at the "School's Out" audience) I went to Borders last week and saw Hilary Duff's "Santa Claus Lane" rereleased with a NEW song! There is also a sticker on the front that tells you the "Metamorphosis" CD and DVD is out now. :) Jo Davidson "Merry Christmas and Happy New York" clips (the album is instrumental, Jo also has a classical album out). I'm holding out on buying it but I know I will by Thanksgiving. I just wished I could see her perform them live but she doesn't have any CA gigs lined up. :( Lucy Woodward said Jo is so talented Lucy gets "chills." On the other hand, "Christmas Dream" has one Myra song, but Myra pictures on the cover and I presume in the booklet. So I'm really stuck buying both, just like I have to get both Japanese "Myra" CDs! :(

Jo Davidson doesn't sing!? She's another Myleene Klass? I had no idea! :o Well, she's certainly a talented pianist. The clips sound very good.

Jo Davidson does sing! But not on her Christmas or classical album. She's a pianist/guitarist/singer/songwriter/writer (seeking publisher)/poet/artist/photographer/etc. :)
I checked the "My Christmas Dream" tracklisting! It's very short compared to the "School's Out"... and I was surprised they put Evan Rachel Wood on the cover since she's not THAT famous (but then I saw the tracklisting with nonamers and figured out why). LOL @ Chris Trousdale's "Kissless Christmas" (great title!).
I read Willa Ford fans want her to put out a Christmas album but they said she can't do it until her next album sells well since only famous singers can have Christmas albums. Everyone likes "Santa Baby" because it doesn't sound like a Christmas song. Very modern!

I saw an alternate version of "My Christmas Dream" on Ebay. It had a different title and a different cover, featuring the same artists on the cover! I should get that too, if the Myra pic on it isn't included in the "Christmas Dream" booklet.

Okay, I've got a title for you...Now listen, this isn't a majorly popular Christmas CD...But if you can get your hands on a copy, do so...Most Christmas albums, like regular CDs, are full of filler with only a few songs worth listening to...But this album, this CD, from the first track to the last track is just plain excellent...My aunt plays it every year at Christmas time and it's the one CD we can put on and listen to all the way through without ever skipping a track... It's "Christmas Jollies" by The Salsoul Orchestra... Here's a link to the CD on Amazon.com: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000001H69/ref=m_art_li_1/103-9549600-7019020?v=glance&s=musicSeriously, just listen to the song clips...I assure you the whole album is just plain great... Oh and LOL at Amazon.com listing it as "Popular in Staten Island"...It's ironic, since my aunt lives in Staten Island!...Hehe...

Celine's is also good... and while I don't own either, I really like what I've heard of both the Jewel and Babyface Xmas albums.

Jo Davidson is having a November ONLY sale. "Merry Christmas and Happy New York" is only $8 (when you buy at least 5 copies). Check it out! jodavidson.com/diary.html Last year I was thinking about buying a whole bunch as quick gifts to friends, but I ran out of money when CDBaby.com shot up the price. I am not going to let the opportunity pass me by again. I am getting myself a copy as well as some for my friends who will love it! I'm not forcing my music on them because this really is good stuff! The girl I took to go see Jo live will definitely enjoy hearing this! Teachers, mums, dads, co-workers, neighbors, friends... everybody will love it! Don't by empty handed come the holidays, this is a great gift! lol! $8 is a great deal. It seems like a great album. But 5 CDs minimum? I'm not paying that. I don't think any of my friends would really appreciate a Christmas album, much less a piano one. Well, hopefully one of my friends is reading this and will buy me Jo Davidson's "Merry Christmas & Happy New York" for Christmas!

Well, I own 2 Christmas albums: Jewel's "Joy" and Hanson's "Snowed In" (haha...)
Jewel's is very good. I love her rendition of O Holy Night, Go Tell It On The Mountain and Gloria (which she wrote). The whole album is very classic.
And Hanson's, well... Not very good at all... Although I think they are good musicians.

While not a favorite album, my favorite Christmas act is Trans SIberian Orchestra. I saw them in concert last year and it was absolutely amazing. I'm going to try and make it again this year. Just a great mix of prog metal and classical music.

I have two favorite Christmas albums. One is Gloria Estefan's Christmas Through Your Eyes. The other is the Salsoul Orchestra's Christmas Jollies (1 & 2)
