Man, I really hate it when people only quote what someone else said without actually saying something original in their post. And what really burns me is some people do it in practically every topic. I know this is only a message board and not that important, but how lazy can you be?
I voted for Sugar Ray. That's easily the best of the three in my opinion. Aren't there other "Someday" songs that are/were somewhat popular?

Sugar Ray's version was quite catchy, and a fun song, but I'm gonna go with Nickelback since it is newer, fresher in my mind and it is a great song, good to sing along to ;)

Not even one vote for the Strokes so far? Guess my vote will be the first then.

Does B*witched count as a band? I would like to write-in for their "Someday," featured on their sophomore album "Awake and Breathe."
It's one of the best songs on the album (which I love btw). After introducing it to my friend, he liked "Someday" so much he printed the lyrics and put it on the cover of his folder (<-- big deal in high school! I put Lene Marlin on my folder! :)).
"Don't tell me I'm a dreamer/Cos I don't want to knowww.."

I always thought Sugar Ray kind of sucked, but "Someday" is one of their better songs, I always liked it!
I'd rank them like this: 1. Sugar Ray 2. The Strokes
3. Nickelback (I HATE his voice and this does sound a lot like "HYRM" which I will be sick of for the rest of my life).

Especially when it's my post that's being quoted, too, cause then you're all "ooh, somebody replied to my post...oh, it's just one of those. Phhh.".

Nickelback has my acclaim here.
First off, Sugar Ray is just a plain lame band that only seems to get worse each album. I thought "Every Morning" was awful from "14:59", then I hear "Answer The Phone" from their self-titled release and then I was sure they couldn't get any worse then. But how they proved me wrong. "Mr. Bartender" is a cold stone new low for them. Can they still get any worse?
The Strokes, on the other hand, are a great band overall that take their songwriting seriously. However, "Someday" doesn't strike me as among their best.
Though I am not necessarily a fan of Nickelback ("Figured You Out" kind of turned me off) I do also think Chad Kroeger can write some deep and poignant songs. "Someday" actually is fairly poetical, and like I've said before on the CHR/Pop thread, lines like the "paperback novel" and "Hollywood horror" couplet are certainly novel and lyrics you don't hear everyday. Musically it is fairly bland, but you've got to give Chad credit for the songwriting here, whether or not you find his vocals annoying.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

In this poll I chose Nickelback.
Glass Tiger had a hit called "Someday" which I really like.

I wish I could have voted for Matt4319. "hyrmsomedaymuym" was already against "Someday" by Nickelback in a poll. I'll probably never start a battle with a user song in it. I listened to a few user songs but not recently.

Strokes, though I would also like to add a write-in for Glass Tiger (1986).
