on the touchy subject of suicide, which is your favorite.. though i love Good Charlotte's song... i must admit that my life saver is still my favorite R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts"

Is "The Freshmen" by the Verve Pipe about suicide? If so, then that one.

Evanescence & Soul Embraced (Rocky Gray, current Evanescence drummer's former band)-Tourniquet. This is the song that has Evanescence under the whole Christian controversy. The song is basically about someone who has committed suicide and whether they would be sent to heaven and be saved. This was my first favorite Evanescence song after BMTL. I also like the original version by Soul Embraced. I think the background of this version fits the mood of the song better. The background music sounds somewhat like a Korn song. The Evanescence version is just catchy as all hell. I lay dying and I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal. Great line

I like The Corrs' since it's the version I heard first.
Lene Marlin writes a couple of suicide songs too (well, I think they are), including "Story" on her new album.

I like "Hold On", and I really like "Everybody Hurts" (R.E.M.'s version), but there has to be other songs addressing suicide that I really like as well, so I pick other. This definitely isn't a good cross-section though, in my opinion.
"Hey Man Nice Shot" by Filter was about a suicide. Apparently a man named Bud Dwyer killed himself on TV in 1987.

Uh..."Everybody Hurts" is not about suicide as I've heard Peter Buck mention.
According to him, he said it's just a song for teenagers who nowadays have trouble getting through high school and it can tend to be a heck of a time that brings many teens down. It is obviously a quite melancholy song with hints of compassion and hope, but there is no indicator or mentioning of suicide.
Anyway, Third Eye Blind's "Jumper" has to take the cake.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"All You Wanted" ~ Michelle Branch
"So lonely inside, so busy out there, and all you wanted was somebody who cares." Chilling.
