me too... i don'tthink he does anything else, but follow brintey. he never responds to anything that is not about her. I can't believe that anybody finds obsessive chart following odd among any posters here at the board since obsessive chart follwing is its raison d'etre. While I do follow Britney closely and respond to threards about her that is not all I do as if for example you go into the Sarah Conner thread or any album sales thread.

As much as I love MI and would love for it to go to #1, I'm pretty sure it's destined for a #3 chart peak. The world is just not ready to abandon meaningful poetic beauty such as Toxic for unimaginitve crap like My Immortal.

Be happy a good song got this high instead of floundering outside the top 50 And dont pick on TheJakes-Britney is his only passion, its a given he would record and scrutinize every aspect of everything about her. I wouldnt say other people are innocent from doing this about other artists

I can't believe you kept track. :o What's wrong with keeping track of chart data? I do keep track of it... what about it?

The world is just not ready to abandon meaningful poetic beauty such as Toxic for unimaginitve crap like My Immortal. Actually I think it's the opposite. But anyway I do think "My Immortal" will end up being the second single this year to peak at #2 ("Someday" being the first), something which never happened at any single point in 2003. Britney Spears seems likely to keep Evanescence at bay until Usher comes up and reaches #1 before Evanescence ever has a chance. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Actually, it would be the third # 2- "Suga Suga" peaked at # 2 on the first week of the year.

It looks like for sure Britney will hit #1 sometime this week (probably by thursday or Friday) at the rate Jessica Simpson is falling, but can Britney keep the #1 spot all the way until sunday? Evanescence's bullet is back up to +600 and are only 500 spins behind Britney. Britney can't afford to have her bullet become weaker because Evanescence is right behind her, ready to take over whenever she gives up. If Britney does end up going to #1 durring the weekday but misses the #1 spot by sunday, we can truly call Britney the unluckiest girl on the charts because several months ago, the same scenario happened with MATM, where it hit #10 durring the weekday but couldn't keep it by the final update.

I think Britney will get the #1 and I'm sure Evanescence won't mind *too* much seeing as their album continues to outperform ITZ week by week. ;)

Evanescence's early numbers show that they're at #2. Their previous peak was #3, which they've hit multiple times including last week. They could breakthrough that glass ceiling...their performance on Letterman could have boosted the sales and airplay. Brit will get #1. Whether Ev will beat her eventually depends on keeping their pace steady.

there is no reason to have 2 topics on the same thing. I agree. There are currently three threads concerning the coming week's chart -- two threads solely on what the #1 song will be. Guys, this is what the "CHR/Pop Chart...." thread is for. This thread and the other one shoud be locked.
