Hearing that the Gin Blossoms are reportedly recording new material and may come out with an underground album this spring after over seven years of silence, I figured it'd be worthy to start a poll of their work back from the dead.
Which of these eight singles from their two major-label releases is your favorite? (with the exception of Til' I Hear It From You, from the Empire Records soundtrack)
All these singles charted mainstream (with the exception of "Day Job", which was released to Alternative)
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I went with "Allison Road"... I barely remember "Day Job", but I do know I liked it enough to put it relatively high on my personal chart (it peaked higher than "As Long As It Matters" ).

I went with "Allison Road"... I barely remember " Day Job", but I do know I liked it enough to put it relatively high on my personal chart (it peaked higher than "As Long As It Matters" ). "Day Job" is what many like to call the Gin Blossoms' grunge song, but Jesse Valenzula, lead guitarist of the band, said he likes to think of it as 60's garage sounding. "Day Job" is much harder than all their other singles, and brilliant I may add. The guitars are all glissading throughout, Robin's vocals are top-notch, and there's an awesome drum solo during the bridge. I bet even now if it was released a second time to Alternative, it'd do very well. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"Follow You Down", it sounded so good in "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days".

"Until I Fall Away" definitely. Most of the others I've burnt out on from too much 90's airplay.

The Gin Blossoms ARE the 90's. They were one of last few Pop\Rock bands that achieved just as good success on the Alternative Stations. The only band that had the same success with mulitple hits on both formats through many albums would probably be Matchbox Twenty. Either way, great band, great songs. They are pretty much still a staple for Recurrent Gold on Hot AC and Alternative Flashbacks. What happened to them in 1996 anyways? I thought some type of suicide had something to do with such bad marketing with Congratulations, I'm Sorry.
