I have a theory that if Monica and J records would've released 'Don't Gotta Go Home' instead of the combination of "Get It Off / Knock Knock" that the whole "After The Storm" project would've done better. I have no idea what the hell they were thinking when they released the double single. But it is my theory that DGGH would've easily been a top ten on 2 or 3 different formats and definitely help sell her album.

At this point, who cares? Many people do!!! I think that 'DGGH' would have been a much better choice. I think some political stuff was going on with J Records and Def Jam, that's why it wasn't released.

Based on the number of votes, apparently not many do.

DGGH is no better than GIO/KK so it wouldn't have mattered. The material from "All Eyez On Me" was much better than "After The Storm" - the new songs, apart from "So Gone", were average. They should've tried a ballad or something, everyone seemed to like "Breaks My Heart".

Wouldn't have made a difference. This album is a flop compared to her past.

Wouldn't have made a difference. This album is a flop compared to her past. yeah, a #1 flop with the #4 R&B song of the year what would have made the biggest difference was promoting the song and getting the video out around the same time as sending it to radio, instead of more than a month after. it was also a bit of a problem that "knock knock" and "so gone" sound a little similar. an um Sean a ballad has been released now and is doing well so far. and the "all eyez on me" material that you speak of was all kept with the exception of the title track and what were truly filler tracks.

That is exactly what I thought. I was very happy that "After The Storm" was released instead of "All Eyez On Me". Bob is right the only stuff left off was the horrible AEOM and filler. I just downloaded all the tracks from AEOM and I am much more impressed with "After The Storm"

Yes, "Don't Gotta Go Home" is pretty good!
There's a lot of potential in the album.. a lot of songs could've been singles. "Breaks My Heart" still sounds great.

I'm glad they decided to remove those AEOM rejects. They were terrible to begin with.
The only problem that I had with "After The Storm" is that it's very heavy on the midtempo to ballad side. I hope she lets loose and makes an uptempo album next time around.
And, she needs to be promoted properly.

Well, after being a Monica fan from the beginning of he career, I have to say that ATS was not as good as her last album.
"DGGH" is a hot song and I thinkit should have been released. ITs one of the few single worthy tracks among the rest of the filler material....but It was also on DMX's album but with additional vocals from DMX so it would have been a problem wit who the song would be credited to, what verses would be used, who would be featured, would it be a duet, who would pay for the video, different ideas for the video, who's album would benefit most, ect ect ect. So thats why it wasnt released.....too much politics
The only other song that had a chance of doing well was "got to bed mad" I dont really like the song much but with 2 sexy artists on a song like that it woulda done well....i sexy video.....it woulda also had alot of street cred. and as a Urban artist that is needed to sell records.

The sticker on her album said "The FUTURE HITS 'Don't Gotta Go Home' and 'Go To Bed Mad'!"
When are they gonna release those two?
