I looked at the Top 300 on the Pop chart, and I don't see anyone who will get a nomination in this category. And I really really hope Jessica Simpson doesn't get nominated. If she does, I'll take my own breath away - permanently.

Jessica doesn reallystand a chane.......her album and the tracks qualified for nomination last year and take my breath away and angels are nto good enough for anything.
But I think "toxic" will be nominated for best pop vocal or best dance track.

I think Jessica is almost a lock for atleast a nomination. But we haven't seen or heard most of the women who are going to get nominated in my opinion.

Sunrise probably has the Grammy in the bag next year, and Toxic is probably a certainty for a nomination as well. I'm not sure about anyone else so far.

That will probably win it. But as far as Jessica goes her album qualified for the Grammys this year and it did not even get a nomination. So if she gets a grammy nomination next year after they re-released the album and she beame popular i will loose all respect for the Grammys. Because if her album wasnt good enough to be nominated this year, those 2 new songs she put on the re-released version doesnt merrit a nomination next year. Toxic will definately get a nomination for pop vocal or dance track. probably dance track and it will probably win.

I think there's still hope for Avril Lavigne, depending on what she releases for her 2nd single. Vanessa Carlton might also be a possiblity, since she's releasing new stuff this summer and I have faith in her talent.
Anywho, Pink got nominated last year for Trouble, and if Pink got nominated for that garbage, then I wouldn't dismiss Jessica or Britney that easily.
On the other hand, there's still time for a breakout artist that we haven't heard of yet to come-around (ala Avril in 2002).

Joss Stone's "Fell In Love With A Boy" may be the potential dark horse! :)
Jessics Simpson may get a nominee, though she doesn't stand a chance in winning particularly because "With You" and "Take My Breath Away" are aimed at different audiences, thus dividing her chance.
Beyonce may pull in another shot, but her album's promotion is winding down so she may be forgotten about.
Avril Lavigne and Vanessa Carlton's comebacks are something to monitor closely.
Melissa Etheridge's "Breathe", Sheryl Crow's "The First Cut Is The Deepest" and Alanis Morissette's "Everything" will all be fighting for a place too.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Avril has gone 0 for 8. Even if she gets nominated, I'll view it as simply adding insult to injury. She's not going to win. How DARE the Grammys award Female Rock Vocal to any song other than Losing Grip! >:( >:(
