Due to some technical difficulties and fewer days for the competition, we had a few less voters for last series, involving Group D, but that did not mean that it was not an extremely close vote. It was mainly between three artists, Madonna, Seal, and Stacie Orrico. Seal came in first place with 29% of the vote, and then for second place, that's where things got extremely close. At second place, with 23% of the vote was a tie between Madonna and Stacie Orrico. For the tiebraker, the amount of total votes in the first round, Stacie outlasted Madonna 16-15, so Stacie will be heading to the wild card round, while Madonna will be praying to get in. So that's that, and that's group D. Congratulations to :
Headed to the Finals: Seal Headed to Wild Card: Stacie Orrico
Congratulations to the two. Now our next eight. This week we'll head back to the theme of ballads, and this week's special judge is one who has introduced all the stars at one point or another, Carson Daily. Enough with the talk, here are the eight members of Group E, the second to the last group in the semi-finals:
Amy Lee Enya Sarah McLachlan Chris Martin Bono Prince Beyonce Sheryl Crow
Looks like a very competetive week, but that's how it works. We'll see what happens tomorrow when the performances begin, and the voting will end on Monday night, where then we will meet our final group of semi-finalists. Make sure to choose the songs wisely, and make sure to vote. Until next time, take it easy, and have a good weekend.

The program I have to pick random numbers looks like it definitely saved the best for last, if you think this group is tough, you should see next weeks.

Probably the quickest turnaround from announcing the artists, to having the performances, with weekend coming, let's start the performances now! Last week we had our first male artist make into the final 12, which was our good friend Seal who sang Love's Divine to find his way into the finals, while Stacie Orrico sang her way into the wild card round, which is already two weeks away. Tonight we have special guest judge, Carson Daly, familiar with many of these artists after interviewing them on TRL, and we have eight great artists performing their own classics, their own ballads. Well, let's get this show started, beginning with the lovely Mrs. McLachlan, take it away Sarah...
Sarah McLachlan- Building A Mystery Crowd Rating: 4 Judges Comments:
Randy Jackson: "Aight, Sarah, I was feelin it. I liked it. The only this is, I think you could have a little more heart in it, a little more emotion, but you have a beautiful voice"
Paula Abdul: "Sarah I thought that was just great, good job"
Carson Daly:"Well Sarah, since my show didn't feature great artists like you on TRL, I was glad to hear my first live perfromance of yours, I thought it was really good"
Simon Cowell: "It's not the question of do you have a good voice, it's just how much you can do with it. I mean, I mean I found it a little boring"
Seacrest: Well Sarah, I'm sure the voters will take care of you nicely, because I thought that was great! Next up, is someone it doesn't take a "scientist" to know how talented he is. Chris Martin.
Chris Martin- The Scientist Crowd Rating: 5 Judges Comments:
Randy Jackson: "Love the song. Love the lyrics. Wasn't diggin' your voice dog, it just did not sound good"
Paula Abdul: "I disagree, that's your voice, and it sounds great, that's why your band is so succesful"
Carson Daly: "Chris I thought it was great, I think one of the voices and songs that will carry on to future genrations"
Simon Cowell: <LEANS BACK, SIGHS> "I have nothing to say"
Chris: "Well come on Simon, I've been waiting for months to hear what you have to say!"
<laughs>
Simon: "Chris, I think you are extremely talented, but I have to agree with Randy, you just did not sound good. The only reason I didn't want to say that is because I usually think you sound great, and your performance tonight should just be discarded because it really wasn't that good at all"
Seacrest: Oh that Simon, Chris, we all know that was a great performance, hopefully the voters know whats tru to their hearts. Now it's time for the beautiful Enya!
Enya- Only Time Crowd Rating: 7 Judges Comments:
Randy Jackson: "That was great, but not stand up and yell good, I mean, it was kind of boring, but it was great"
Paula Abdul: "I can't see why anyone would want to stand up after any ballads and start yelling, they are slow, soothing songs, and Enya has mastered it"
Carson Daly: You have a great unique voice, good job.
Simon Cowell: "Enya, you are a great artist, and I don't know how to comment against something that sounds so good, but this was so boring. I mean don't get angry when I say this, but you are a boring artist, and when someone wants to fall asleep they put one of your albums in. But this is a competition looking for the best artist. If this was Boring Idol, hands down you would win, you have a beautiful voice, and you're boring...that's you're style"
Seacrest: "Simon, it's BALLADS NIGHT, but for some reason you are not understand that. Anyways you all know that if you want to vote for a great artist, you can vote for Enya. Now we switch to the man who has had almost a hundred hits the past twenty years, not the King, but Prince....
Prince- The Most Beautiful Girl In The World Crowd Rating: 1 Judges Comments:
Randy Jackson: "Correction. That's a ballad I can stand up and clap to, that was hot, Yeeaah Yeeeeah Yeaaaah Dog Yeah!"
Paula Abdul: "It can't get any better than that, excellent job."
Carson Daly: "Haha, Prince it's artists like you that make TRL so bad"
Prince: "I would have to agree Carson"
Simon Cowell: "Okay! Okay! Hush down. Prince, that was outstanding. However, like I have said to a lot of the older artists, artists MY age, do you really have what it takes to beat all of the youngsters? It takes a lot of energy, and you have to be smart. If you can perform like that every night, you deserve to advance. However, it's going to be hard to sway the younger voters. Keep in mind, you have not had a number one record in 10 years. But tonite, it was very good."
Seacrest: "Wow, now this place is "jumpin' jumpin'", but not for Beyonce just yet, how about the queen of darkness, the beautiful Amy Lee"
Amy Lee- My Immortal Crowd Rating: 2 Judges Comments:
Randy Jackson: "Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo Dog, maybe one of the best back to back performances. Woo! I need some water, I just, tonite just keeps getting hotter! Amy, that was hot! Yeeeeah Dog, Yeah Dog"
Paula Abdul: "Haha Randy said it"
Carson Daly: "I remember still when you guys came in to sing Bring Me To Life and referred the song to my Late Nite Show. I was kind of mad, but that was great"
Simon Cowell: "Amy. It was good. However, you have the opposite problem as Prince. I just don't see you having enough songs to compete in this competition. You better be hoping for a lot of cover-nights, and a lot of luck. But like Prince, tonite, that was superb."
Seacrest: "Two in a row? What's going on Simon? Anyways, once again, another artist with dozens of hits, take it away Bono"
Bono- One Crowd Rating:6 Judges Comments:
Randy Jackson: "Yo dog, the people in the crowd better be happy tonite, because they are seein' finals material here. Where else can you see all of these performers so it for real? Yeah dog!"
Paula Abdul: "Bono, you're one of the best, and tonite proves it"
Carson Daly: "That was rad cool"
Simon Cowell: "Kind of good. But not that great. Compared to the other performances tonite, that was a little subpar, but we know you can perform better than anyone here if you really needed to. Sadly, I think tonite was one of the nights you needed it to happen"
Seacrest: "How can anyone go against this guy? Good job Bono, next, is another established artist who has lately crossed over to country. Will she sway some of those voters? We;ll see what happens next, with the perfromance by the beautiful Sheryl Crow"
Sheryl Crow- Strong Enough Crowd Rating: 8 Judges Comments:
Randy Jackson: "Sheryl, that song is old, why aren't you playing any of your newer stuff....it was aiight for me"
Paula Abdul: "Yeah Sheryl, you are great, but tonite, I just wasn't feeling it"
Carson Daly:"Sheryl I remember playing that song back at my high school, it was good then, and sounded great now"
Simon Cowell: "Without any question, the worst performance of tonite. I heard some bums on my way hear tonite who sounded better. I mean, that was a total mess"
Seacrest: "eeeee, tough crowd. Well Sheryl, I'm sure you have some loyal fans who can help you out. Well, last but not least is the beautiful Beyonce, take it away"
Beyonce- Dangerously In Love Crowd Rating: 3 Judges Comments:
Randy Jackson: "Beyonce, how are you feeling tonite?"
Beyonce: "I'm really excited" Randy Jackson: "You are great, but that was a disaster. What's up? I really hope you have some loyal fans, because I would really like to see you continue in this competition."
Paula Abdul: "Beyonce, you are the future. But tonite was a little rusty, but you have potential"
Carson Daly: "Beyonce, I have seen you grow to the artist you are today, and still, that was really good"
Simon Cowell: "THAT was the worst performance tonite, maybe of this whole competition. I know you have potential, but you sang as if you were in the dentist's chair. Horrendous."
Seacrest: Well B, I'm sure we can see you in wild card at the very least, because in my opinion, that was fantastic. Well, that's the last Group E, we only have ONE MORE GROUP performing on Monday night, and that's everyone. Remember, vote for who you want your idol to be, these judges do not mean anything! Take it easy everyone, and I'll see you on Monday Night.
VOTING HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN UNLOCKED! I'M OUT!

I like that Amy performed My Immortal tonight, but where does that leave her for the rest of the tournament ???
They've got BMTL, Going Under and Everybody's Fool, but in a pop/Hot AC oriented audience I can't help but feel a little pessimistic :(
She should perform that song she did for Cartoon Network the other week lol...

1.How is Amy outlasting all of these people. She can compete for like four rounds and that's it, well she could perform Broken I guess.
2. How is Enya even in it?

I voted for Prince, he's underrated these days!
