This is the second in a series of polls to decide, once and for all, what the biggest hit of each year was.
Notes: I included "Get The Party Started" for 2002, even though it peaked in 2001, because 2001 was overflowing with candidates. Also, "How You Remind Me" will be on the 2001 poll.
2002
Blurry- Puddle Of Mudd
The biggest rock radio track of the year... Topped all three rock charts for at least 8 weeks... # 1 for the year on Alternative and Rock... Made it to # 4 on Pop... # 22 for the year in Top 20 points.
Complicated- Avril Lavigne
Massive sized hit, set the record for most plays in a week on Pop radio... The longest running Pop # 1 of 2002 (8 weeks)... # 1 for 16 weeks on Hot AC... Charted on Rhythmic and AC... # 1 for the year in Top 20 points.
Dilemma- Nelly f/ Kelly Rowland
# 1 for 10 weeks on the Hot 100... Topped the Rhythmic chart for 10 weeks and the Urban chart for 9... Hit # 1 on Pop for 5 weeks... # 3 for the year in Top 20 points.
Get The Party Started- Pink
Massive party anthem... Eclipsed 9000 plays on Pop but still couldn't reach # 1 (was # 2 for 5 weeks)... Top 10 on Rhythmic... # 13 for the year (2001) in Top 20 points.
Hot In Herre- Nelly
The song of the summer... Topped the Hot 100 for 7 weeks (and was knocked out of # 1 by himself)... Topped both the Rhythmic and Urban charts... # 1 on Pop for 2 weeks... # 8 for the year in Top 20 points.
In The End- Linkin Park
The Alternative crossover of the year... Became the hardest-rocking # 1 of all-time on Pop (6 weeks at # 1)... Topped both the Alternative and Active Rock charts... # 2 for the year in Top 20 points.
Lose Yourself- Eminem
The longest running rap # 1 of all-time on Pop (6 weeks)... Topped the Hot 100 for 12 weeks... # 1 on Rhythmic... Became the first rap song to win an Academy Award... # 6 for the year in Top 20 points.
A Thousand Miles- Vanessa Carlton
# 1 for 5 weeks on Pop... Hit # 1 on AC for 9 weeks and hit # 2 on Hot AC... # 4 for the year in Top 20 points.
