Leading female artists from Asia (CoCo from China; Utada from Japan) attempt to crossover to the US pop market with backing from a major record company.
Which lead single do you like more?
It's a tuffy! I'll say.. gosh, this is tough! I like both of them so much. I liked CoCo's "Do You Want My Love" on first listen at the time but now I'm burned out on it and it's quite bland/generic to me. Utada's took time to grow on me and now I love it...
This is hard, I'll get back to you. :)

I have to say "Do You Want My Love" because after I saw that video, I fell in love with all the Asian girls in my school! :o In other words, almost 1/2 of my entire class. (I was the only non-Asian in my graduating class. The smart class. The "dumb" class had a few non-Asians.) CoCo Lee made me sweat with that song! I felt so proud jumping up and down (yes..sweaty! caliente) during her 10-minute set at KDND's Endfest 2000! I was the only CoCo fan in the crowd, since it was in Sacramento. No Asians compared to SF. Hella racist! The MC introduced her as the "biggest-selling female artist in Asia...over 9 million albums sold!" Everyone in the crowd: "Who?" Picante!

I liked the Coco Lee single slightly more than Utada.

I like CoCo's song slightly more too. The sexy US version with the line "Freaking to the morning light" is the better one. A-Butter is an excellent rapper!
