These are the late 2004 #1 Alternative hits (We can expect "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" to top the chart for the remainder of this year.)
Again, the top two favorites will be selected for the semi-final round.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

:o :o :o :o :o DAMN! AS EASY AS PART II WAS, THIS ONE JUST IS VICE-VERSA!Of the 5, I find 4 are just awesome, and one was good, but got repetitive. 'Pain', personally, is incredibly refreshing from one of my favorite bands, 'AI' was like 'Ch-Check', enjoyable but got annoying fast, 'Boulevard' is not only the best Green Day single in a loooong time, but it WILL be the song to make them big stars again, 'Breaking the Habit' is hands down the best single off 'Meteora', it's just a shame they released it a year and a half after the album release and I totally burnt it. Although the video got me into it again. So that leaves the triumphant return of U2, 'Vertigo' blew me away, so for the fact that U2 didn't make another 'Beautiful Day' or 'Stuck in a Moment', they went in a totally different direction, and it's just SO awesome, it reminds me what rock-n-roll is all about. INSTANT CLASSIC!

1) Vertigo: A 2) Boulevard of Broken Dreams: A 3) Breaking The Habit: A+ 4) American Idiot: A 5) Pain: A-
It was really a toss-up here, so I essentially picked one at random. U2 being my favorite band was kind of a tie-breaker. I went with "Vertigo".
Also, I see 16 #1's. Am I the only one who thinks a one-on-one tournament would've been better? This is cool, but I feel much less guilty picking 8 of these songs instead of 3.

I love all of these, but Green Day's latest Boulevard of Broken Dreams is their best single ever.

************UPDATE*************
We may already have decided our two qualifiers for this round, and they are Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and Linkin Park's "Breaking The Habit"
However, like in any race, it isn't over until it's over. Sometimes singles can rally late, and though Green Day is likely in the clearing, Linkin Park's semi-final title birth isn't certain yet.
The deadline is at noon tomorrow.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
