This is the semi-final round to determining the Pulse Board's favorite chart-topping Alternative hit of 2004.
Above are the seven qualifiers. The four favorites will qualify for the final round, the other three will be eliminated.
I encourage all of you to rate your choices from favorite to least favorite to ensure in the event of a tie the winner can be decided by overall average likeability.
Have fun!
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

It's between Lostprophets and Green Day. I'll have to go with Lostprophets since "BOBD" is still fairly new, plus I'm sure that'll get plenty of votes anyway.
A+ Lostprophets: "Last Train Home" A+ Green Day: "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" A Incubus: "Megalomaniac" A Linkin Park: "Breaking the Habit" A- Blink-182: "I Miss You" A- Modest Mouse: "Float On" B Three Days Grace: "Just Like You"

Wait a minute. It says I've already voted... and Lostprophets don't have any votes. Did I accidentally vote for someone else? lol

**********UPDATE**********
Two singles have the advantage in an early tie.
Blink-182's "I Miss You" and Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" lead the way with five votes apiece.
Not far behind, two more singles are caught in a deadlock, noses away from all the other candidates.
Lostprophet's "Last Train Home" and Linkin Park's "Breaking the Habit" have the advantage for the final two qualifying positions, but this race can hardly be called over yet.
In fact, there could be a sudden changing of the guards by tomorrow's 5 P.M Pacific Standard Time deadline. Every single other candidate has two votes.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

***********UPDATE**********
Round IV comes to a close, and we've got a massive deadlock here.
Blink-182's "I Miss You" and Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" are clear favorites for the final round, and will take the first two qualifying positions easily.
However, the fight for the other two qualifying positions has proven to be brutal.
So, here we go with the process of elimination:
1) We can rest assured Three Days Grace's "Just Like You is eliminated, being the only other single candidate not tied with 3 votes.
2) The qualifiers will be determined by overall likeability in ranking.
I've tallied up the results by first favorite votes, second favorite votes, third favorite votes, etc. Bear with me, as this is a complicated process, but also the democratic way.
Each vote for a favorite is worth 1 point, each second favorite vote is worth two points, each third favorite vote is worth three points, etc.
The two singles with the lowest average score will qualify for the final round.
********Lostprophets: "Last Train Home"********
Favorite Votes: 1 Second Favorite Votes: 1 Third Favorite Votes: 1 Fourth Favorite Votes: 2 Fifth Favorite Votes: 3 Sixth Favorite Votes: 2 Least Favorite Votes: 0
TOTAL UP TO: 41 (41/7)
FINAL AVERAGE: 5.857
********Incubus: "Megalomaniac"********[/b]
Favorite Votes: 2 Second Favorite Votes: 0 Third Favorite Votes: 3 Fourth Favorite Votes: 3 Fifth Favorite Votes: 2 Sixth Favorite Votes: 1 Least Favorite Votes: 1
TOTAL UP TO: 46 (46/7)
FINAL AVERAGE: 6.571
********Modest Mouse: "Float On"********
Favorite Votes: 1 Second Favorite Votes: 4 Third Favorite Votes: 1 Fourth Favorite Votes: 0 Fifth Favorite Votes: 1 Sixth Favorite Votes: 2 Least Favorite Votes: 1
TOTAL UP TO: 36 (36/7)
FINAL AVERAGE: 5.143
********Linkin Park: "Breaking The Habit"********
Favorite Votes: 1 Second Favorite Votes: 1 Third Favorite Votes: 1 Fourth Favorite Votes: 3 Fifth Favorite Votes: 1 Sixth Favorite Votes: 2 Least Favorite Votes: 1
TOTAL UP TO: 42 (42/7)
FINAL AVERAGE: 6.0
******************************************
And so...here are our winners by likeability default.
They are...
Modest Mouse's "Float On" and Lostprophet's "Last Train Home"
These four winners will face off in our final round to determine the Pulse Board's favorite #1 Alternative smash of 2004!
It begins now, and the poll shall remain open until Saturday at 5 P.M Pacific Standard Time
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
