Not sure if this one has been done before. I searched about 25 pages and found nothing. :) Janet's musical career is heading into its 23rd year. (WOW!!) So, I thought I'd list her albums and see which comes up as the favorite.
For me, The Velvet Rope is Janet's crowning career achievement. Rhythm Nation 1814 and janet. are VERY close behind though. Interestingly enough, all three of these albums are VERY different.

Rhythm Nation and The Velvet Rope are her greatest achievments. The former because it's one of the most solid pop albums of all time and the track record of hits proves it. The latter because it's her greatest work substance-wise and one of the most impressively adventurous commercial pop albums ever. I'm going to give it to Rhythm Nation simply because there's not a single song on it I dislike, while there are a few dull spots on The Velvet Rope.

The Velvet Rope was like therapy to me. It's her best album.

Easily The Velvet Rope. Incredibly adventurous work, especially from such a mainstream artist.

The Velvet Rope is the one I voted for. I really liked that album because it featured some really different Janet songs. "Go Deep", "Free Xone," and "Rope Burn" were three really erotic songs. "What About" was an incredibly amazing song. I liked how she went from soft and slow to rough and fast. But it was a powerful song.
I like all of Janet's albums, though.

Really surprised janet. only has 1 vote. I didn't vote for it, but it was a very close second for me. Clearly far superiour to All For You for example, imo.

"Rhythm Nation" is my favorite by far. I pretty much like everything on it. "Janet" is second on my list. Very good, but just it does have some missteps. Her albums have all gone downhill since then. I've sold back my "All For You", and didn't even bother with "Damita Jo"

I think its interesting to see DJ and AFY higher than Janet's best selling album JANET. Yeah. Even though I voted for TVR, I expected to see way more votes for janet.! It's also kind of shocking that All For You is considered her best by two people, but hey, opinions vary. :)
