As you can see - I've listed a variety of voices. Each one being completely different from the next. I think that's what makes the selection harder.
This was really tough for me, because Sam Cooke, to me, possessed one of the greatest voices ever. His Live in Harlem album is incredible.
Stevie, of course, is just a genius and his songs are complete classics. My favorite album of all time isn't Songs in the Key of Life for nothing.
Marvin is one of the all time greats, Al Green's earlier records are so good, Curtis had that killer falsetto, Barry was that deep-soulful bedroom music that nobody could top, Teddy was amazing and Donny was everything you'd want to hear come out of someone's mouth.
I really need to think about it. I'm leaning toward Stevie and Donny, though.

Marvin with Stevie a close second. Stevie had better songs over his entire career, but Marvin had a better voice. Plus Marvin's best songs are better than Stevie's best.

I voted for Marvin because he died before he could sink into the mid-to-late 80's AC sap like Stevie did. After those two, I'd vote for Teddy.

Marvin with Stevie a close second. Stevie had better songs over his entire career, but Marvin had a better voice. Plus Marvin's best songs are better than Stevie's best. I agree. If I ranked all songs I've heard by them (and that would be an enormous task!), Marvin would probably have the Top 3 songs, and 6 of the Top 10, but by the time we get to the Top 15, Stevie would probably take the lead and never look back. Al Green is another of my favorites. He defined soul. No lightweights here. I'm also a fan of Barry, Sam, and Teddy.
