After three albums, I thought it'd be appropriate to start a first poll for Five For Fighting.
John Ondrasik made his debut in 1997 with "Message for Albert". It went off completely unnoticed, however, though after he made a breakthrough later on, the forgotten single "Bella's Birthday Cake" became a setlist favorite ever since.
"Americatown" marked Ondrasik's breakthrough, even though sales remain to look sluggish for him. He spawned a hit single from this sophomore effort that topped the AC and Hot AC charts and went Top 20 on CHR/Pop. "Easy Tonight" would follow up and make the Top 20 on Hot AC, and the title track was last released, which went virtually unnoticed.
The most recent release, "The Battle For Everything", features the chart-topping "100 Years" on AC, and two other singles, the latest ("If God Made You") beginning to climb AC.
Which is your favorite?
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"The Devil in the Wishing Well" is Ondrasik's best single to date to me.
By far one of 2004's most underrated releases. It could only scratch the Top 25 on Hot AC.
Lyrically it is very weird. But Ondrasik sounds more confident than ever in this track, nevertheless, and makes everything sound believable. We all certainly know that "devil in the wishing well" in our lives that's misunderstood and just wants someone to share and feel their pain.
"Americatown" also kicks butt, and both his two biggest hits are also quality singles. Really, the only single he's released I dislike very much is "If God Made You".
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"Superman"
It's the only song I like by them and I hated it the first time I heard it, but it has nostalgiac value.

I think I've just realized why I dislike "If God Made You".
It's just so lyrically pretentious. It sounds basically to me like an agnostic love song, like if God made her, then any friend of her like God is a friend of his, but if not, fuhget about it!
That's just at least my take. It sounds so selfish. Like God doesn't love him if this love was an illusion or whatever.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Out of what I've heard, I like "100 Years" the best.
