Toni Braxton, no contest. Mary J is in a distant second, followed closely by Alicia.

Vocally I would easily give it to Toni but considering ALL talents like writing, producing, playing instruments, and all that, its between Tweet and Alicia or Beyonce.

Beyonce plays instruments and is considered a good songwriter/producer? News to me. Well thats why i put Beyonce last. She doesnt play any instruments but she does wrtie and co produce and does the vocal arrangements for DC which are really tight. And she is a good singer and performer.

I voted Mary. "Most talented" is such a general thing though. Because with the reasons some of yall are listing, this title could fit anybody. Mary plays the piano (since somebody mentioned instruments), writes mostly all of her shit as well as stuff for other artists. She does her vocal arrangements for her albums and live shows, as well as arrangements for other artists. Her acting has been highly praised. None of her albums have been critically panned. She's treated like an icon in the urban community, and she's barely into her 30s and is nowhere near being done. And all but one female on that list has cited Mary as being one of their musical inspirations. Go Mary!

Beyonce plays instruments and is considered a good songwriter/producer? News to me. Toni Braxton doesn't write and produce. I just thought I'd point that out. Beyonce has written and produced more of her songs than any of these ladies. Tweet doesn't produce, dance or play an instrument.

Mary J. Blige by a landslide. The woman is a living urban legend.

Actually, Toni Braxton does write and co-produce. And Tweet writes and co-produces all of her music, as well as playing the guitar and the drums.

As for the answer to the question, I enjoy all of these ladies, but Mary J. Blige has definately had the most impact, so my vote goes to her.

this poll is actually really stupid, since you can't really compare talent from one to another. some are more talented vocally (toni, faith), others in producing (alicia, beyonce), others in song writing (alicia), others in instruments (alicia), others in marketing themselves (beyonce), etc etc etc...

Bob has a point. I'll rank the artists on overall vocal talent and song quality (which I assume is what everyone else is doing as well). This would probably be how I'd rank them:
1. Mary J. Blige 2. Toni Braxton 3. Alicia Keys 4. Angie Stone 5. Faith Evans 6. Jill Scott 7. Beyonce 8. Tweet

Everyone measures talent differently. Some people put more and less emphasis in certain areas. Anyones talent can be compared, and is always compared.

I Pick Toni... Then Mary.... then I don't know who else. A few of those I'm not familiar enough with to vote. Of course Alicia is winning, she's so overrated and a lot of people just choose her by default.

Amazing how Tweet could be on a poll like this. The only song I've ever heard by her is one of the worst pieces of junk I've ever heard.
Toni, Alicia, Mary, Beyonce. Not sure I've heard any song by either Angie or Jill, and I'm not familiar enough with Faith to evaluate her, though I know I like at least some of what I've heard from her. I think I'd like to hear from these last 3 artists, but they're just not played on radio stations around here as far as I know.

double boo & hiss at you all who are trying to act like this poll is reasonable at all
you may as well ask people to objectively decide whether Picasso, Renoir, Magritte, or Van Gogh were more talented
