So many people get the misconception that RCA is like the god of all things related to radio. So i decided to actually go to their website and see how much artists they have that get pop radio airplay and the only ones i could find were Christina and Kelly Clarkson! I was shocked to learn that Arista records had so much hot radio artists. Every Year they have at least two artists dominating the radio charts, i think they are probably the #1 record label when it comes to radio airplay.
Here's the order i would put them in and how much power their artists have on the radio
1. Arista Records (Usher=10/10, Avril Lavigne=7.5/10, Outkast=7.5/10, Pink=8/10)
2. J Records (Maroon 5=9/10, Alicia Keys=7/10, Mario=5/10, Gavin Degraw=5/10)
3. Columbia Records (Beyonce=9/10, Destiny's Child=9/10, Jessica Simpson=6.5/10, Switchfoot=6/10)
4. Aftermath (Eminem=9/10, 50 Cent=9/10)
5. RCA Records (Christina Aguilera=9/10, Kelly Clarkson=8.5/10)
6. Jive Records (Britney Spears=7/10, Justin Timberlake=9/10, R. Kelly=5/10)

Avril is on RCA now I picked RCA Avril Lavigne was on both the RCA webiste and Arista website, so i assumed she was on Arista because that's what she was when she first came out. How/When/Why did she switch? Is she no longer on Arista? If she moved over to RCA with her last album, then it explains why she hasn't been doing as well as her first album, airplay wise, which only proves my point that Arista is the most powerful!

A lot of artists were switched around between labels as a result of the BMG/Sony merger into RMG. Some artists were even dropped.

Interscope/Aftermath easily. That's all under Universal. Universal is one of the biggest record labels yet no one put them on this list. You all don't want to admit it but Aftermath wins here easily.

Arista, J, & RCA are all owned by BMG Records. (Jive Records may be too, or at least they have some kind of distribution deal with them). That combination gets my vote.

Oh, it's Aftermath. Absolutely Aftermath.
Eminem remains a commerical force, 50 Cent may be looking to repeat, and now The Game is on the rise.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Five of the labels you listed are all owned by the same company. A better question would be who is more powerful between the Big Four: Universal, Sony/BMG, Warner, or EMI.

Arista is not a label. It was dissolved and now half of them are dropped or on Laface. I picked J because Clive runs it and he runs rca/J/Laface/Jive.....I couldn't come to pick Rca..... Thye're not that great.

man this is one of the hardest to answer. i like arista becoz of the j/laface umbrella: with usher, outkast, tlc?, toni braxton, mario, busta, alicia, tyrese, santana etc. on it.
i also like idjmg (island/def jam) jus becoz of the amalgimation of hiphop/rock acts there.
interscope umbrella is up there too, with a&m, mercury & geffen on it, plus jus straightout interscope.
i may be wrong with some of these becoz they've changed a hellava lot lately, but im gonna give the edge to arista becoz of j records.

Actually, I think Atlantic may have the strongest promotion staff. How long was that MB20 song #1? Disclaimer: I used to intern for them, but not in Promotion.
