remember this is for the 'sound' not the actual song itself. i jus used these as a guide because i think they sum up each 'sound'. heres a breakdown
monday monday - carefree pop. free spirited folkish songs, maybe acoustic, alot of harmony.
white rabbit - darkish, drug-trippin music. lots of effects on guitar and offsetting emotionaly.
broken wings - new wave. has that distinct 80's sound, kinda tinny sounding, alot of synth.
misty - slow jazz. silky vocals, sounds like it belongs in a bar somewhere. a bit of vocal trickery (see the "fo-lo-lo-lowing you" part in this song)
hawaii - beach pop. lots of falsetto, very cruisy but racy at the same time. fun in the sun rock.
mack the knife - 50's crooning. kinda broadway styles, the kinda music you'd hear in the ball park or a gangster's hideout. for drinking martini's to.
jammin - late night reaggae. alot of harmony, sorts coarse vocals, very light instrumentals
i dont know if these are good examples or not, but these are the best i can think of. vote for what you'd like to hear in new music (in some form anyway).
